What you're going to see here is a what ever has my attention at the moment. Wildlife, animation, little short films, my reel, and other projects that I'm interested in. I cannot promise anyone will find it interesting besides myself. But thanks for looking.
Great photography!! For those of you who may be unfamiliar with these specific Pacific Salmon, they are Chum aka Dog Salmon (Oncorhynchus keta). The trivial name "Dog Salmon" was given due to the large "teeth" that the males develop for fighting, and obviously not for eating. They develop these teeth close to the time that they enter freshwater to Spawn. Pacific Salmon don't feed after entering freshwater streams to spawn, with the exception of Sea-Run Cutthroat (Oncorhynchus clarkii clarkii). Chum Salmon are the most poor quality of the whole genus of Pacific Salmon to eat!! And beginning anglers usually don't believe this so they usually dispatch them, then later they're nearly always disappointed. This included myself (in the 1970s), as an older fisherman told me how "they're somewhat okay when smoked"!!! Take my honest advice; even if you catch nice Silvery bright ones -assuming that your local regulations allow the retention of Chums- the wisest thing to do is to release them, Unharmed, so the can procreate as they need. Pound per Pound, they're the most powerful Salmon, but play them fast, as to minimize any harm to them.
I just watched a video ligit 10 mins ago on Facebook and ot said because salmon fish are so dedicated to there life's journey they starve they're selfs till they turn pink cuz there body decays and after they complete their journey they turn into zombies growing teeth and dedicating the rest of there energy into reproducing that's why it's common to find all the dead salmon on the bank
I just saw this video as part of the Greater Seattle Choral Consortium's Seattle Sings online showcase. The choir sounds great, and I love seeing the members in their daily lives yet still united in song.
Dan, I'd like to use some too. I'm having a documentary made in Washington state on the replacement of stream culverts with bridges. How should the credit read? Ross Whitney, Gig Harbor, Washington
And here in California the salmon will go extinct as corporate almond farmers rod the very life out of our creeks, rivers and streams. Profits over all is the moto with the feds and state... Shame on those who would destroy our fisheries for the sake of their pocket books...
what do you mean I like shoving salmon up my ass, so I should know a bit more about salmon fights than you, and I'll say that this is the best fight in my living memory.
Hey! Love this footage, I'm a video producer for a student project about western canada for the University of Montana. Cool if I used some of this as b-roll? credit due of course.
Soo nice! But do yourself a favor and get the correct exhaust tip. This one's for the Elise, as it's too short. You already see how it burns up the paint on the clam. I had the same problem on mine when i bought it.
