An ELVIS concert was basically Elvis and the band jamming and the audience just happens to be there. It was loose and casual. That's why it was so electric. Ya never knew what to expect.....
You probably heard the original version sung by Elvis friend TOM JONES !!! He sings about sitting in jail and waiting to get executed, so he dreams of getting back home where he was born and to meat the people that love him. The house and his girl (Mary) looks the same and they all are happy to welcome him home. In the end he wakes up and the priest and the guard takes him to execute him and bury him at his hometown and special tree...
As I’m turning 78 and my hubby is turning 80 next month, this song has much more meaning and depth than it did when we first heard it in 1966 (sung by Andy Williams on his TV show) when we had been married for a year with my Hubby just returning from Viet Nam. We were so thankful we didn’t have to experience death from war personally. We are in our sunset years and totally blessed to have been able to be in love with each other for 59 years of marriage and 5 prior years as boyfriend & girlfriend. What a trip this life has been❤️❤️❤️
I know this old but he from toronto when he wrote this he was up for 2 attempt murders thats why informer Jamaican culture huge in t.o snow certi in the reggae community also did a lot of remix’s with some big artist he has other big hits you’ve prob heard just don’t realize its him
White Toronto boy was not playing at the gangster stuff either as he was incarcerated at the time of release on two attempted murder charges. He came out a star worldwide . I lived in the Persian gulf when this hit and we all knew it word for word. I still do and it came on the car with all my nephews and nieces in and there is me signing along at 50 years old 😂 . Their faces were a picture of pure shock it was hilarious.
This reaction video would have been worlds better with two simple improvements: 1) The sound quality of the recorded Kenny Rogers performance was poor. Very thin and tinny sounding -- like listening through a long section of pipe. 2) The video had some kind of soft background music playing which wasn't muted when the recorded Kenny Rogers performance began. The conflicting melodies and tempos drove me crazy and ruined the recorded performance. I couldn't watch it to the end. Also, not a fan of reactors (reactioners??) who pause the recorded performance to give immediate reaction to everything in "real time." Just ruins the performance and the musical dynamic. My favorites are those who let the recorded performance play through, and THEN offer their personal reaction.
Proud of our Canadian rappers. I remember this was the anthem back in the day across the board. Some really amazing and well respected rappers from our humble land. 🇨🇦
Yes, that’s Ann Margret. They had a lot of chemistry on and off screen. They had an affair for almost 2 years. He ended up choosing to marry his wife Pricilla
