This Crown XLS series is excellent, and it is the entry level of the legendary Crown brand which is part of the powerful Harman group which owns prestigious brands like JBL. The strong points of this amplifier, I say amplifier because there is no preamplifier, are its power, which lasts impressively for long hours, including at low frequencies, its definition from bass to treble with a midrange who sings, a very precise frequency definition, and its dynamics (famous class D). This Crown XLS series disconcertingly supplants so-called hi-fi amplifiers sold 20 times more expensive. Its multiple settings are very useful for calibrating the sound. The only small problem is the fan which makes a little noise, and for me, a user of Crown made in the USA for over 30 years, Chinese manufacturing. I would be too afraid to buy a counterfeit, China, a country that rotted the planet with the Wuhan virus, is the world champion of counterfeiting. Good to know: today a lot of professional resellers no longer buy from the official importer of the brand (and other brands) but on sites to avoid which do not verify anything such as Amazon, Alibaba, Aliexpress, made in China . This is what we call globalization, it is beautiful, and above all much cheaper for unscrupulous resellers! Please note, there is no guarantee from the importer in this case of purchase. The solution: check at the dealer using the serial number and call the official importer. I know, it's tricky.
Great video. I would love to see a video on creating the 12 volt trigger as I have two of these to run two subs. Also, I have the same tray table but I think everybody does.
Nice setup. Can I please ask you the distance between the topside of your center channel speaker and the bottom edge of your TV? I'm thinking about a center channel speaker stand for myself and I'm considering how close to have it under my TV screen
Hello, I did the same thing with 4 sets of 2 silent 120mm PC fans and a 4-zone controller for a fixed PC tower for a total cost of 120 EUR allowing me to fan my amp (Pioneer VSA-E08 Gold and my PS3 which I put in a Pioneer DV-717 Gold chassis) as well as to force the suction of cool air at the bottom of my Home-Cinema unit and the rejection of the flow of hot air at the top of this H-C unit. No noise is audible once a film/game is running and above all a saving of 200 EUR on my installation. In addition I can change the fans or add others because there is always a free PWM socket in each of the kits. QED... I wish you a happy new year 2024... :))
Awesome setup, and great job on your speaker production, I built a couple of speaker sets in my youth, but I don't have the energy these days; great listening...
Even though you can't disable your avr's built in amplifiers I'm pretty sure it runs cooler using an external amp as your avr's amp doesn't see any load on the amp section if no speakers are connected
That's correct. With no load on the receivers unused amps, there is no current draw. There is only a slight draw from some of the associated power supply side circuitry, but its negligible compared to when it is actually driving a speaker.
Way back yonder in the 80's and 90's I was playing bass in a band full time. The PA had 8 Crown DC300 power amps. They ran clean and with no problems for decades. Crown is the industry standard. The best amps made.
FYI Home center stores like HD and Lowes aren't even obligated to cut half inches. The machines show signs saying they cut to one inch tolerances. They aren't there to fulfill cut sheets. They're there to break down plywood to fit in a amaller vehicle. Always gotta take bigger pieces home and cut it yourself because they'll always disappoint with smaller tolerances.
I totally thought those tires were the proline masher x until you showed the sides haha. And wow they really improved the clipless system because that xmaxx body comes off a looooot. That would drive me nuts, glad the XRT is improved. I actually have that motor sitting on a shelf, but I been scared to put it in the XRT thinking it would make it weigh too much. =(
Yeah those tires are all made by horizon lol. I would love to see that motor in the XRT I'm just not willing to take apart my other RCs for it right now. It will happen it the future tho I'm sure.
Nice. I've had my Max 5 and 1100kv 5687 motor in my X-Maxx for like 3 years. My latest gearing is 35/50. I got 54mph on grass/dirt. Enough for double backflips off my friend's huge ramp. I use a roll cage to prevent my body from flying off. Kids are funny 😂
Nice pick up. I love my upgraded Xmaxx. It's a beast with just a few tweaks and the Max 5 and 1100kv 5687 motor. Mod 1 35/50 gearing. Check it out in my channel. Subscribed. 44mph is not that bad. I usually like 47mph off road at a minimum for my taste. My X-Maxx is hitting 54mph currently, but I that issue another story 🤣👍
Thanks! I'll check out your channel! I have to upload my XMaxx video tonight running xlx2 with 1100kv. I tried to get a speed run but I need to turn down the brakes a bit cause I kept flipping 🤣
@@BrianRiotHobbies Tame that beast system. It keeps damaging the diffs on my Outcast 8s and EXB K8S. I think that the HW Max 5 and 1100kv 5687 would have been a better choice. So much nicer to the drivetrain. 👍
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-osUmXZMc3S4.html He said that he never heard the sound so horrble! - Crown never be close to audiophile grade.
I have the XLS2502s and loved them until I took a chance abd bought the Crown XLI2500 power amplifier. There was a huge jump in musicality and I'm hooked on Class AB for life...just my 2 cents...
Does the amp save the settings after you turn it off, or you’ve to do the setting every time you are setting up the PA system? I’ve this amp, and I plan to use it to run my two subs, Peavey 118, 400 watts, 8 ohms. Is it good to run those two? And how do I set the inbuilt crossover to get the desired Bass volume?
Cool video bro, it would be good to turn off the internal amp on avrs like even a firmware update so that u can choose to it would be good. I’m looking at getting one of these but 7 channel then down the road get a processor and go separates
That's a sick DBXL-E, I have the v1 DBXL-E and it's basically stock but I've had to beef up the Steering Assembly and think yours Might benefit witha duel Steer Servo set up or something faster. I'd love to see it action.
Thanks I just got a gopro so hopefully have some footage soon. I think I'll eventually get a better servo. I have a beast 1000 on my kraton I may switch it out and put it on the dbxle.
Dam my amp weighs 40 plus pounds and only 300 watts at 4ohm per channel I have a small room and it sounds great but I want more power what are some good speakers for this amp I gotta get it
I connected this for my broken amp of my sub. The problem is my sub amp had adjustable phase and this doesn’t have. I used to get deeper bass at 60 degree and I’m looking for solution for right bass for my home. :(
Hello, just purchased the same vehicle. Could you please provide the link where you purchased the rear body quick release hinge pin. I tried finding it on Facebook and couldn't locate. Thanks!
