Hey there. I can assure you I didn’t edit anything differently. I merely just took screenshots using VLC of the blu ray and 4K version. The darker pixels are simply not great in the 4K version but the corrected brighter colours look better. The blu ray edition I feel is still the best all-round version at the moment.
My favorite use of the Howie Scream is the hilarious bathroom scene in John Water's Serial Mom. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bhi-CzKnR2U.html
My defence point for Bond visually is On Her Majesty Secret Service, which I think is the most cinematic of the films. In 2022 I saw it at a Sony 4K certified cinema and it was eye-wateringly good. The beach scenes had individual grains of sand like jewels. It was so good. The streamed “4K” versions are sadly not as good.
I am wondering why they keep messing with these movies on home video. I really wish that EON and MGM would license these out to Arrow or Kino Lorber or something who could release them on 4KBD if MGM/EON do not want to. At least then we might actually get quality restorations of these films.
@@stonesfan285 Lowry Digital's scans are not nearly 20 years old from the original where available final cut negatives. So thankfully that's saved 20 years of deterioration so I've no idea what condition the negatives are in now. There has been criticism of their colour timings but for a home release I'd actually like Atmos and Dolby Vision, so more work would be needed.
@@loftlegacy Yes they should have Kino Lorber or Arrow (who MGM is partnered with for boutique releases) remaster these. I've heard that the theatrical showings were really quite good so I think the original elements must still be there.
I mean they already have some technology that does beat it. Kaleidescape uses downloads that are supposedly less compressed than Blu-rays or 4K Blu-rays but it's extremely expensive and you're pretty much locked into that technology then. Like you can't go and take that movie and watch it somewhere else. But that's where Hollywood is headed - to 100% pay-per-view or streaming and never actually own anything.
I remember hearing about Rich, about 25 or 26 years ago or maybe a little longer. But I bought all his videos because that's what we had back then, his style Schenshido is amazing, and he's an amazing teacher. I have these grappling videos of him also with vampiro. This really took me back thanks for putting it on. You have a new subscriber. Good luck with the channel. And if you have anything else about Richard love to see it. God bless 🙏🏻
Not sure about DNR but the colour timing has definitely been altered, the contrast is much deeper. If this reflects the film negatives then fair enough but it would be nice to see comparisons to the source.
