To all girls follow your dreams, If joining a sorority is it then do it and let your purpose serve through it. Everyone isn't built to be apart of a sisterhood, that's why only a few are chosen and understand. You make the sorority, don't let I make you that's why it is important to do your research and see what fits you. God bless!
as a black girl, black sororities seem pretty dumb to me like this this video was really long and showed them doing the same crap over and over just with different music. black frats make more sense than this. I would rather join a white sorority than a black one. (even though i don't like greek life). they all look like drama queens they look like they have some basketball wives or real house wives of atlanta drama. coming from a majority white upper class i wanted to go to a black university to be exposed my race a little more but these video's make me want to go to more diverse universities in my state like ECU. why can't black sororities be like all the other ones and do fundraisers, and throw parties go shopping idk or have mixers but this step show seemed stupid to me.
+cynthia ejiba um they do lol. like the chapters i know of do alot more fundraising and all that than partying and strolling. Also youtube will only show as much as what is uploaded. So when you get to college you will understand more. Dont base it all off of one video. And AKAs actually really hate drama, they're the sweetest people you will meet. Like the strolling and probate stuff is all a performance so they are in a "character". But in real life as individuals they are pretty down to earth and cool. And mind you they are soooo high in when it come to scholastics. Each girl has a 2.9 Gpa to a 4.0 gpa. it isnt all about looking pretty and cute. That goes for any greek NPHC sorority/fraternity. As for NPC um i roomed with three girls that were in a white sorority and all they mostly did was throw a mixer and look for girls to recruit. I never really heard or seen them do fundraisers.

I care b/c unlike you I'm a decent human being and have a full identity outside a frat. And if I can save one more person from foolish beatings, being filled with all kind of pointless stupidity, at risk of poor grades or dropping out, and God knows what else .... I'm doing my job as a decent civilized human being (to much is given much is required). I will continue to bring awareness to those who are wise and intelligent enough to listen. And if you don't like it, oh well deal with it. I couldn't care less and will never stop anddddd will do this every opportunity I get. I know it's helping people b/c ppl told me Thank God! And just fyi a hater spew lies and unfounded statements, I present facts. You're the hater, hating the truth that these greek organizations are the bottom of the barrel & phony.
Jss Pss A decent human is concerned about poverty, kids in gangs, child abuse etc....not the privileged life of college students pledging. Go volunteer. That's what I'm going to do...with my Sorors. What are you doing besides sitting behind a computer screen whining like a little girl?
msgeorgiabama slo-poke, I'm concerned about it all. I'm an activist verbally and physically. Pledging is a form of mental and physical abuse (some have even died from it), it's been illegal but of course will never die out which is why I want the greek system disbanded. And your Sorors you say? lol ... my aunt who is your soror consistently makes insensitive remarks about "sorors" of your skin tone and won't even acknowledge you if she had a choice .... Again in her mind (and countless like her) the epitome of a real aka is a pretty light-skinned woman with "good" hair, women who would pass the bag and ruler (hair had to be straighter than a ruler) test as it originally was to become an aka.

And for the record, the legacy clause was bought about because so many light-skin AKAs were marrying dark-skin men and having darker skinned daughters, so since most couldn't pass the paper bag test, they introduced the legacy clause so they would be able to join on the skin tone of their mother/grandmother LIKE WTH!? .... per an old school AKA so don't come for me. AKA is trash and always will be and I tell it where ever I go

This is how ALL of our chapters should look. We should always look like professional and educated young women who personify excellence. Kudos to our new Sorors and the Alpha chapter for cultivating this image.
