Most of my Mailbag pickups are for long-term investments, but some cards are available to purchase from my eBay store... www.ebay.ca/usr/hockey_cards_in_canada/
@markusdowney5457 I've never had any issues paying with Visa. Could be that it's an odd online transaction that just gets declined for safety reasons. I'd contact your credit card company and see what they say. Good luck!
That happened to me too. I sold a card over ebay and sent it untracked. Sure enough the person says they never got it. Decent chance they were lying but I couldn't prove it. - $150 and a lesson for me
@wabdih Damn. That sucks to hear. 😢The hobby is full of great and honest collectors, but unfortunately there are some bad apples in the bunch too. Sorry to hear your story but thanks for sharing. 🙏💪

@SpaceRanger187 From what I saw about the seller online, he seems legit... hopefully there will be an update on the case soon and we'll know for sure. 🤔
@HancockSr You're not the only one thinking this same thing. I'm surprised we haven't heard about any of these guys getting caught yet. Thanks for the comment!😀💪🔥
@HoochMakooter Haha a guy who hopefully learned a very valuable lesson! 😜🤑💰Lotsa people are seeing this as an insurance scam. Eventually police "should" catch whoever is responsible and we'll know the truth.
As a card collector myself, id like to remind you all that your cards arent worth anything. Its a piece of cardboard, please. 🤡 Edit: A friendly reminder that theres no “good dealers”, just people that can gaslight simpletons better than others. 😂
All those cards became "rare" because moms of boomers threw away those pieces of cardboard EN MASSE. Its also worth noting that putting a card on the back of a bike to make a noise against the wheel was a common thing to do. The sports card conundrum started as hoax of fake rounds of sales TO SEE if the public would go for it. They did. If you fake it, they will buy. Big money sports cards is a FORM OF GAMBLING. It is not a hobby, they are not "collectors", they are gambling and often hoarding. The whole thing is so silly. Paying someone to grade cards is laughably stupid and it only goes to show that "collectors" dont trust each other that they pay for "grading". Again, so silly. What can you do with a piece of cardboard that you would pay MORE THAN a car, MORE THAN a house. Sheer arrogance & stupidity.
@duewhit310 I definitely agree with you on a number of points! 😀💪Opening packs/boxes is very similar to gambling. I won't be surprised if eventually some sort of regulation happens because there's so much money involved, lives can/will get ruined, and the industry can be taxed.💰 Also, sports cards in bike spokes made my bike go faster! So no regrets! 🤑😜😂 I appreciate the comments! 😀🙏🔥
@PaulThompsonGB I definitely question whether videos like this are fake. There are tons of em out there. However, this one appears to be legit... just a careless owner... the police and apparently also the FBI are involved in this case, so I'm doubtful that this isn't legit. Many viewers think this is an insurance scam. Eventually, someone's gonna get charged with a crime, so we shall see who is truly involved! Thanks for watching! 😀🙏
If your order is lost/stolen coming back from the 🇺🇸…$1000 would cover the value of the cards, but would you be refunded all the shipping and PSA grading fees?! Isn’t it better to insure with FedEx for nearly $2000 to cover all costs associated with an order?
@sportscastercanada You raise excellent points! 👏 I think insurance would only cover the value of the cards lost/damaged etc (if you win the case). My dilemma recently was trying to decide if I should use FedEx to send my Connor Bedard Young Guns. Personally, I enjoy the Canada Post experience more than using FedEx, but it's definitely a gamble going with a max $1K insurance. Thanks for the comment! 😀💪🔥
Clearly, this is insurance fraud. Why would you bring 2 mills to an empty convention? Cards like this sell in specialized venues. The fraud is you steal from yourself, collect the insurance.
@joelvelezjv76 Quite a few people believe this was an insurance scam. I'm very curious to see how this story ends. 🤑 One note: the convention was actually a very large show in Texas. The theft happened at the end of the show, so it appears that it's just a small show. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! 😀
Sorry, just to be clear.. You paid $710cad for both your orders right? How much was custom/duty fees to get back each submission? Sorry just trying to understand. I always send to my brothers house in the u.s and make him ship it to me. I would love to just get my submissions straight back to Canada :)
@clockerzapparel3399 Hi! On my $710 CAD payment to PSA ($520 USD), you calculate the custom/duty fees by the GST and PST. I'm in Vancouver, BC so the cost for me is 12% - or roughly $85.20. You'll get taxed based on the grading fees that PSA charges you, not on the value of the cards. The example in the video around 6:34 mark, is from an order that I paid PSA $150 USD. And once you calculate the PST/GST it comes to $24.50. Hope that helps! Good luck with your next submission! 😃☘🚀🔥
@abackimages5351 I'm very curious to see/hear/understand what goes on with an insurance claim in a story like this! Insurance never likes paying out when it's 100% legit without any issues, so very interested to know how this gets looked at! 🤔🕵
@johnnynumonic7191 Ya you wonder what extra security measures (if any) the vendor uses! Great point. 😃👍$2M case should have a lot more protection in place. 😕
@johnnynumonic7191 Haha the more I think about this case, the more I'm super curious about how the Insurance Provider treats a claim like this and what steps someone needs to follow so a $2M claim doesn't get denied based on being careless. 🤔🤑💰
@drgatsis Good point! I hadn't thought of that. 💪 But if the vendor didn't figure out his stuff was missing until a day later after he's sorting through inventory, it's doubtful there are any prints. ☘🙏
@thatguy7085 Ballsy moves from these 4 dudes, considering there are cameras and we can see their faces. I assume they'll get caught, but just wondering how long it takes. 🤔💀🕵👍
I just scored a Gretzky signed photo of him holding the cup with a PSA certificate for $90 and then bought the McFarlane figure of him holding the cup. Will make a nice display piece. I do have his 79 OPC in a psa 8 but idk if I should take that out of my bank and display it
@jimmy_iKoN Wow! Amazing Gretzky purchases!!! 🔥And you've got a PSA 8 RC!!! Such a tough question to answer: to put it on display or to keep it locked up safely... ❓🤔❔If it feels pretty safe, I say display it! But be mindful of sun and UV rays if there are windows nearby... Maybe keep it locked up!!! Haha awesome dilemma to have! 😃🚀😇🏒🏆
@stevenlapierre1742 Interesting question! 🤔Currently, looking at eBay recent sales, it looks like a PSA 10 sells for slightly more than $1K CAD ($1,100-$1,200 ish + taxes and shipping). I always say collect what you like, so if prices dip, it's much easier to stomach. 😎👍If you've gotta money to burn and it's not a big loss to you if Bedard got injured next year and missed a bunch of games and the PSA 10 price drops and you're ok - I'd say go for it! 😃🍿☘🔥🚀💰 BUT, $1K is a lot of money to spend, especially on a single hockey card, so be mindful of that too. 💪Also, it is usually a lot cheaper to just buy the single card AND already graded, than to rip a bunch of blaster and hobby boxes... hoping to pull the Bedard... and then if you get lucky... rolling the dice with hoping to get a PSA 10! ☘❓❔💰🍿 Anyways, just my two cents, but all of this value-based thinking is what makes this hobby a lot of fun!!! 😃❤☘ Good luck!!!
