Welcome to 'The HotWheels Hunter UK', The videos on my channel are dedicated to hunting for HotWheels and other brands of diecast cars in my local stores. I regularly hunt for HotWheels, giving up my lunchtimes to add to my ever growing collection! I also trade HotWheels with a group of enthusiasts, who also collect, and get extra castings for nephews, nieces and their friends. I have loved diecast cars since I was a very young kid. Luckily my mum bought me a diecast car (Matchbox) every time we visited my 'scary auntie', ha, ha. Unfortunately they did not sell Hotwheels where I lived when I kid, so many, many years later I started collecting them as they became widely available. I want to share my finds (favourite castings) with the worldwide community of HotWheels enthusiasts. Also I want to hear about your successes, and all our struggles, and hopes to find those elusive and rare 'Super Treasure Hunt' castings. So join me and let's share are love of the fantastic world of HotWheels.
I found this case or similar near me as well. They dont seem to have any other cases/boxes though, always the same. Be nice if they did it with 2025 hotwheels as well. On the pricing i think its reasonable, where i am there is a Smyths, B&M, Halfords and other shops. The first three shops all sell them though some not often. One will sell a car for £2.40 where the same car is in the other shops for £1.50-£1.69. I went to a famous South coast car museum and they wanted £4 each. 😂😂
Yes, Aldi stores get the same case letter for months. The benefit is that, if you miss out on any castings elsewhere, you can still find them there. It will be a while before 2025 HotWheels are on the shelves, still lots of awesome 2024 castings to come. Aldi sell HotWheels for the lowest price around, well in the UK. Museums do charge top money for what they sell, but usually because they don't charge an entry fee.
Matchbox have really good detailing compared to HotWheels, and tend to look more realistic. Majorette are really cool, with moving parts, but lighter weight, and more expensive.
It's very popular. Have you tried Aldi? They have B cases in stores now, and, (depending on sales), they usually get two new B cases each week or two. You have to be quick though, they go very quickly.
Which I-Pace rims are you using? The trapezoid 5-spoke, (white casting) or the 'Y' 5-spoke, (black casting)? I guess the weights are to make run faster on a track?
The wheels came off the black I-pace, they don’t look like trapezoids. One bent axle so I’m gonna need to keep looking. I’m doing a build for racing, these guys are serious but a bunch of good guys. Nice store visit, thanks for the video.
Love the Fiat modificado, beautiful, the rear detail on that Ford supervan is superb, not sure about the Cadillac, might grow on me , love the re-colour on the project Jaguar . Best supermarket for us lately has been Tesco, now The Entertainer has moved in to a lot of their big stores and there on 2x for £3.60 deal. My wife even found a Pajero super t.hunt , first one we’ve ever found in four years collecting 😎
Yeah it is a sweet casting, just a shame they didn't detail they front of it. The Ford Supervan is wicked, any recolour will be 2nd to this one. The Cadillacmobile 😂 is a bit Marmite, Cadillac as a hypercar manufacturer just seems a bit weird.
''Toys R Us' in WH Smith's, now 'The Entertainer' in Tesco. Why pay for your own premises when you use another company's. (I know they will pay a fee, but still cheaper). £3.60 is a reasonable price for two. Well done on the Pajero STH! Crazy difficult to find any STH. Most shop staff know their value, so grab them before they hit the shelves.
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it. I don't give out my location, however all Morrisons stores use the same supplier, so they should be in your branch now, or soon.
Have these 2024 HotWheels castings arrived in your Morrison's yet? Do you hunt in supermarkets for HotWheels? What supermarket do you have the best luck in? Is £2.15 too much to pay, or is it worth it for the more desirable castings? Are you a fan of HotWheels on the long card clip strips or do you prefer them on short cards?
Thankfully I managed to get one in a shop before they sold out. They will go up in price once they're no longer in stores, that's the nature of HotWheels collecting. Did you get one in a store?
@@TheHotwheelsHunterUK I've been unable to find one. I found 5 in different stores from the same chain(Smyth's) but they're only in stores across the county and won't ship between them 😔 Driving 3+ hours each way doesn't seem worth it.
Maybe try ' The Entertainer'? But I think they are out too. Yeah Symth's won't move stock between stores for customers, (down to cost). You would pay far more in fuel, than paying extra to get one online. I guess online is the 'best' of the options. This casting will only increase in value as time passes because it is a Skyline. Bide your time, you never know, you might nab one for a decent price. 🤞
@@TheHotwheelsHunterUK lmao. Currently the 1/43 skyline is on sale on amazon, £12. Thinking of picking up 2 or 3. 60% have been sold, so probably wont last more than a few more hours, from around 9am sunday.
@ConfusedRaccoon Great spot! Patience brings rewards. I hope you managed to get the 2 or 3 you wanted? I might get an extra one, if there are still some left. I can't believe. the price, I know it's £12.89, but that's a bargain for what it is!
Yeah that deep red colour is a bit special, but for me, the white is right up there too. The '87 Quattro, one of my many retro dream 💭 cars... Super retro cool.
Have noticed the prices for the GT Scorcher 😮 can’t figure out why though. Love the 73 Civic in yellow and the Mod Rod , the colours of the latest one are fabulous 😎
It's the power of TV to influence! Peg warmer, to wallet emptier 😁. I love that casting, (the '73 Civic Custom), yellow, for me, is the best one yet! I like this Mod Rod best, but the new one is cool too.
I found the GT scorcher last week. Like the rest of my HW collection they are sent down the super 6 lane raceway by my son as soon as I get them home, but it makes me happy we both get to enjoy them!
That sounds like a great, fun way to spend quality time with your son. You and your son do with the cars what they are made for, to race, and to play with. Though there is a collectors' market too. Is the GT Scorcher 🔥 fast on the track? I bet it is!
Have you found this money maker regular mainline Hotwheels casting? Where did you find it? Have you sold one? Have you bought one at a high price? Do you think it is OK to hunt for HotWheels, and then sell them for profit?
@@TheHotwheelsHunterUK Yeah-- after watching this, I was able to hit up a bigt box store after a huge dump of these... I picked up three, and left like 7 on the pegs for other guys-- with a few TH I was able to find. Came back the next day, they were ALL gone. Amazing hobby, love finding something new, or being surprised by when hunting.
WOW! That was very lucky, but you gotta hunt to get the luck! I reckon the Civic will be a highly sought casting in a few years time. Very good of you to leave so many of them for other collectors, hopefully real collectors found them, but maybe it was one reseller, hope not. 😬. What TH did you find?
Is the DeLorean the blue one with the side stripes? I can't remember all of the castings I found in that video. I saw a real ID Buzz (in yellow) when I was out HotWheels hunting! 😁
@@TheHotwheelsHunterUK My wife and I both collect hot wheels & matchbox, she keeps them pristine in the packaging, me and the grandson rip them and race them 🤣The Limited Grip is a very fast casting, think I saw somewhere that it was really built so not a fantasy as such ?!
Good that you and your nephew enjoy racing the cars, that's what they're made for after all. My love of diecast started when I was a kid. I played with my cars and trucks indoors, and outdoors, for hours, and hours and hours... I'm a collector now, and like your wife I keep one of each in the packaging.
Cheers 👍. Yeah I was very happy with a lot of the castings I got. (Good price too). Thankfully it wasn't a returns box with all of the good ones taken out.
Lucky you, I'm coming to shop in your Halfords 😁. I'm very happy you are enjoying the videos. I have put quite a bit of effort into them, especially the recent ones. I like to make the cars, the stars of the show, no padding.
Ouch!!! That is a huge price to pay for that car. Lots of questions spring to mind like: Why such a high price? Where did she buy it? Why the GT Scorcher? I left that one in the store. It's a disgrace that anyone would charge that much for that car.
@nigel1210 Well that clears that up, cheers for that. I just couldn't get my head around why someone would pay so much, especially for that casting. It annoys me that a seller charged someone, £22 for that HotWheels car.
Why do 2024 long card HotWheels castings have a 2021 date on them? Have you noticed it yet? What is your favourite casting in today's hunt? Where Is your favourite place to Hunt for HotWheels? Where do you have the most luck HotWheels hunting?
Yeah, Matchbox the best detailing hands down. As far as collectible, HotWheels have exploded in popularity here in the UK in recent years., I know loads of collectors of HotWheels. New Matchbox, far less people collecting them, in my experience. I could be different in the country/area you live.
@@TheHotwheelsHunterUK - I'm from England, and Matchbox cars have been a fairly permanent fixture in my life for 60+ years now. I always had the Lesney ones (still have some now) and the rather 'phoned in' Tyco years ones, and now enjoy the quirky selection from Mattel. My current favourites are the Lincoln Continental, and it's diametric opposite, the Morris 1000, or 'Morry Thou' as some of us know it - including the band The Stranglers, who called it such in their song '(Get A) Grip (On Yourself).'
That National Parks colour scheme is an incredibly collectable Matchbox subset, that has been appearing randomly for several years. If you ever see one - grab it, whatever vehicle it might be.
@brianartillery That is dedication. I bet you could tell some stories from your collecting days. My mum bought me a Matchbox car every week when I was a kid. I really was a Matchbox kid, I loved them! I played them to pieces, literally, outside on the street and in the mud. I have collected most of them again as an adult, nostalgia. Like you I also have Lesney ones, boxes of them. Also the earlier smaller scale Lesney ones. Unlike you I didn't keep collecting when Mattel took over, but I do know the first Mattel Matchbox cars still had metal base plates
Are you talking about the purple HotWheels Lincoln Continental with the gold base plate? I remember a red Matchbox one with a white plastic roof, from many moons ago... Oh, Moggies are very popular as diecast cars. I didn't know they were called 'Morry Thou', but it makes sense. Oh, I know 'Golden Brown, but not the song, 'Get A Grip On Yourself'.
Do you have many/any stores near you that stock Matchbox? Are You a Matchbox or HotWheels collector? Do you collect both? Do you think it is a good or a bad thing that Mattel owns both brands?
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it. I'm only on RU-vid to upload videos or answer comments. No worries at all if you want to reverse your sub. I wish you continued success with your channel.
B&M, Asda,Tesco,Poundland,Poundstretchers,Matalan,Smyths,Toytown,Toymaster and any independent toy shops I come across. Got Everything I was after from a D case including Godzilla from a Toymaster last weekend.
That's a lot of places, much better than putting all your eggs in one basket. Do you have to travel far to get to them, or are they close by? That Skyline is a great get, was it the 2023 or 2024? They are both D case castings.
Found my long card Godzilla R33 for £1.72 at a Morrisons in the North East a couple of weeks ago. My best hunt spree up there in a couple of years in fact...
Might be a little tricky to find, but hopefully you will get one. There is also a Matchbox version of that exact Porsche, keep an eye out for that one.
The Matchbox version definitely has bigger, chunkier wheels. Fingers crossed 🤞 you will find one, and can do the comparison. I have seen it in Morrisons and Poundland most often.
Gravelly, husky voice today, throat frog to blame! 🐸🤧 Is your favourite 2023 casting in this hunt? If not, what is your favourite? What was your favourite 2023 casting In a great year for HotWheels?! What place(s) do you hunt for HotWheels? What Is your favourite place to hunt? Do you have a big choice of venues or only one?
What was your favourite castings in this case? Do you buy the wacky RTH castings? Was you're favourite casting of 2023 in this mid-2023 case? The gold LBWKs Nissan? The red RS200? Or The black AMG Merc? Or a different casting?
Yep! Majorette do castings with moving parts, and plastic insert headlights for £3. Their premiums are £6. But Mattel won't lower the price or change their laser printed headlights while collectors keep paying the current price.
HotWheels 1:64 premium castings cost £9.00. In a sale £7.20, or maybe £5 for castings that are not good sellers. However, popular castings will all be snapped up quickly at £9.00
That store I mentioned that sells 'Mini GT'' in the UK is an expensive place to shop in. How much do they cost in India? I'm really surprised to hear that HotWheels have not fully tapped into the huge potential sales of India yet, surely they are missing out big time!
What is your favourite casting in this new 'Fast & Furious' Set? Are you a Japanese, American or European car HotWheels fan? What do you like, and or dislike about HotWheels premium castings? Are they worth £9 price here in the UK?
I've had/have lots of 1:43 scale diecast, and the moving parts (especially the doors) always become loose after a short time. You can tighten some, but they quickly loosen again. I'm happy at this price point that the 1:43 HWs have no opening doors etc. I know to keep the price at a certain level they would have to compromise in other areas of the casting. Also the mechanisms to move the parts would be second rate. Moving parts do add interest though.
Firstly, you can never look at them as you will be in the way of people queueing to pay. Secondly, they ALWAYS have the same cars in every shop, and thirdly, my local Aldi hasn't had any in for months
Yes, very frustrating! I just took the whole box out, and moved it out of the way, I bought lots, so nobody complained. Also, I asked (nicely) in store if they could move them to a 'better' place', now they tend to be by the closed tills. Having the same cars in every shop is likely due to the supplier, (Mattel UK) that's where the big retailers get them. My local Aldi never had them, then suddenly, they have lots. Availability in store is very often based on sales numbers.
Hi Laz, Welcome to the channel. I spend most of my lunchtimes hunting for diecast, it's great. HotWheels make lots of cool American muscle cars. Colchester, a very famous historical place.
