It's hard to imagine a Bugatti Atlaintique owner driving one outside ever. This was a lot of years ago. Now they are worth Stupid money. It was the most expensive car for a bit if I recall correctly. Luv and Peace.
The colour is actually Ice Blue Metallic. It needed new outriggers, suspension arms and a few other things (all of which have now been done). Not bad for a 25 year old car!
Im related to the Jowett family, my gran or Auntie were related. My mum was adopted by my gran, Irene Wood. In Bradford in 1947, my mum was from Ireland. Id love to hear from someone about the family, i have a family photo & also a grandfather clock made by him. I remember the name Elsie Jowett getting talked about a lot when i was little.
Thank you for uploading this. I read The Last Enemy when I was a boy in Lima, Peru. It was a condensed book version published in a 1942 Reader's Digest. As is the case with most Spanish translations the title was completely changed. "My Baptism of Fire in the RAF" was the title for the Spanish speaking market. Overly dramatic, I know. I really enjoyed it and years later read the complete version as an adult in English. Hillary's book had an unforgettable impact in me, and my fascination with the Battle of Britain is reflected in some of my aviation art.
❤ I once was flown by an ex battle of Britain spitfire pilot when I was an ATC Cadet, he was fucking mental , I thought the wings were going to fall off . That was early 80s RAF Lossiemouth or Kinloss , can't remember .
Is there any way to use this footage please?. Ivan Dutton is interviewed on here. Now aged 83 he has a successful RU-vid Channel, SHED Racing, in which he entertains his 18.5k viewers with restoration, racing, anecdotes etc. Would be fabulous if we could use some of the footage of him on his channel - obviously with the appropriate credits etc.
Yes, of course - I actually subscribe to Ivan’s channel! It would be a great honour. I particularly enjoyed his film from a couple of months ago about your California!
I'm ever so glad you could share this with us Suzie.I'd have most likely never have seen it without your sharing the 'link code' with us on Shed Racing's sight.Thank you,and the producers.
I first want to buy one when I was 17 in 1968. The owner wanted $800 (California) but my Dad refused to lend me $400 which I needed to buy it as he thought it was unsafe). Today, at 72 I still would buy one but only if it had a disk brakes 😊.
About 7 of 8 years ago I met John F Kennedy, his wife and the James Radley Silver Gohst in Hum, Croatia. As a car enthousiast I loved to see the RR and talks with John about it. He invited me for the next day to Buzet. I went there and was invited again to make that day a trip. It went to be an unforgetaball day, which I still remember and brings back tears of luck and happiness of meeting John F Kennedy (AKA James Radley), his wunderfull wife end car. THANK YOU FOR THAT WUNDERFULL MEETING AND INVITING JOHN!
As an RAF pilot sitting on 40 galls of 130 octane, we wore Nomex flight suits and tight fire resistant gloves, white. We could have as many pairs as we wanted. Once hands burned, no more flying. CAVU skies to all aviators.
