I lived in Daly City from 1964-1986 on westmoor ave went to westmoor high 1974-79 in 1986 I decided to get the hell out of there too cold too foggy and a little depressing moved to central contra costa county. Where the summers are real the quality of life out here is so much nicer but the summers are brutal
I used to live in North Santa Clara County. Palo Alto. I was not rich, in fact it was hard for me to survive. I lived in San Mateo County, Redwood City also. It wasn’t that expensive compared to Santa Clara County. Don’t care what anyone says.
Lived in Daly City most of my life and i m9ved to south city so not far at all. My pro: Car recommended but not required. If you dont have a car its not that hard hopping on public transit. The SamTrans system is really robust and has a lot of route opinions and are generally frequant for popular places and times like rush hour. Con: Them hills are similar to sf! Because Daly City isnt in sf doesnt mean the landscape instantly changes. If youre a walker like me or using public transit and need to walk to your destination after the bus or train, be prepared to walk up a hill or climb some stairs. I use to walk from my house in the old mission to westmoor high school which is over an hour long, i have ADHD and it helped, and towards the end when i reach school my lungs are burning and my legs were pure jelleton. Overall love the city! Either living in or visiting it, youll enjoy yourself
So monthly mortgage and also HOA fees on top of it or is everything included in one price per month? I’m seriously looking into buying a condo but those HOA fees are not very appealing lol
Depends on what is considered "affordable housing." It's a lovely spot. Also, affordable housing is not so affordable when there is no infrastructure. How far is the nearest grocery? Will there be public transportation? Those concerns factor in. Interesting. Thank you!
Bertolucci's was my grandfather's restaurant. My mother is a Bertolucci. It has a lot of history, and we had many family gatherings there. It is sad to see the building go. It's weird to see all of the large condo buildings rise above it. I guess it has to change with the times. I am happy that Peter Sodini still carries on the Bertolucci name.
So when one of these self driving cars goes out of control and kills people, who's going to be held responsible? The car? The manufacturer? The technician? The software engineers? The CEO? Who??? We live in Jurassic Park now.
After visiting SF, I’m confused why anyone would live there except for the weather. It’s completely unaffordable, unsustainable, and the single biggest example of true wealth disparity in America.
Our whole area is becoming one massive pay per view. Obviously parking meters aren’t that outrageous but paying to use the highway, paying to park, it sucks in Santa Cruz.
