Great video for tips! For post night hotels, do you know if they transport you and luggage right off ship to the hotel? Or can they arrange transport later and store luggage at the port while we explore?
Thank you! For the Rhine River, we did a post night in Amsterdam, and ABD transported both us and our luggage to the hotel. We checked in at hotel, left luggage, and then went out to explore. Hope this helps!
Hi! The AMA ships are unique because, unlike many other river ships, they offer connecting rooms. This makes traveling with a family so much easier! Please reach out if you have any other questions, or are looking for a travel agent to help plan your adventure :)
Hi! The dress code was super flexible, some people wore the clothes they had for excursions, others changed into “smart casual”. For the captains table, people were a little more dressy, but not everyone. I would go with whatever you’re comfortable wearing!
How flexible are the excursion days? If you wanted to go off on your own for lunch/alternate activity than what is offered can you? What was your opinion of the excursion offerings- did you get the options you had requested? Thanks in advance!
Hi! Most of the places had “explore on your own time”, along with planned excursions. It was the perfect mix of tour group/ independent time! We were able to get every excursion we wanted- I feel like they offer varied options for everyone, so that no matter your age or travel party, you will have a blast! Originally, we were unsure that there would be enough exploring time on our own, but there absolutely was! Hope this helps! 😊
Thank you so much! Great question. I have done a Disney Cruise and loved it- I feel the River Cruises are more destination focused. The ship experience is amazing but not the focus of the trip. The Disney Cruise ships are spectacular and have so many more activities onboard. They’re two very different (and super fun) experiences. Hope that answers your question!
Apologies for missing your comment! Thank you so much 😊 We went last week of June/ first week of July and aside from one stormy day in Amsterdam, the weather was gorgeous!
