My dad is in a similar situation. He calls the day of his stroke the day he died. It's heart wrenching. Every time I listen to 10,000 days, I cry. Life is fucking cruel. This is a beautiful tribute. I hope I can find a way to get a bottle in Utah!
What a great tribute to your Mother. I pass your vineyard everyday on my way to work in cottonwood. What a great asset you have become to the verde valley with your businesses and jobs.. Judith would be proud of you
This must've been quite a long time ago, I assume? I bought the first merchandise he produced at the time, around 2008-ish. I had a grey hoodie with the legend printed on it - "Caduceus - Red Wine From The Desert"... I wore it until it _literally_ wore out and fell to pieces! I miss that hoodie big time. Glad I have some pics of it though! =o)
Heartbreaking to hear... I think she'd be more than proud of her son James' achievements... I first saw Tool back in 1997 at the London Astoria (rip) for the Ænema tour. When I was just 18 years old. The very same gig where Maynard wrestled that fan/stage invader to the ground! You'll find it on RU-vid no problem, it's a famous clip. I'm happy to say that I was there! In fact, I was pretty much almost right next to the person filming it! =o)
I love San Diego. It’s been my home (especially Ocean Beach) for over 32 years. I fled odious LA to arrive here. But- - as we all know, the river of Heraclitus does not allow for permanence. Unfortunately, this now includes my so-called “family”. Long story short, I love my mother Pacific Ocean, but the once beneficent weirdness of OB has taken a turn toward the Bad. I don’t like it. I think I want to pack my shit and split. Any openings for avatars of Diogenes? I am a worker
10,000 Days is my favorite TOOL album and Wings shatters me every single time I listen. This man’s lyrics have gotten through and taught me like no one else’s have. Thank you Maynard❤
It really choked me up to watch this. It was so moving! I also lost my mother in 2019 and it devastated me and my sister. What a beautiful thing it is that he created as a dedication to his mother. I'm sure that she is so very proud of Maynard. Hugs
What he did for Judith is the most respectful, dignified thing a son could do.....Maynard, i respected you already, but this....all us sons with sick mothers totally get it....respect
😢 for all thats its worth she still left one hell of a legacy because Maynard is is one hell of an ultimate bad ass singer and for that i say thank you Judith Marie ❤ TOOL IS FOREVER
I've seen many people try to explain the differences in how Maynard expresses himself in Tool, APC, and Puscifer, but I think that Judith is the key. With Tool he is mournful and broken over her condition in Wings for Marie and 10,000 Days, with APC he's angry and resentful of the god she believed in and took her away in Judith, but in Puscifer Maynard is hopeful and ready to preserve his mother's legacy through his somewhat spiritual songs of perseverance through hardship like Humbling River and Indigo Children. Maynard may be a public figure but he is not a public man, which is his right, but he is nonetheless able to impart wisdom and share his growth through pain through his music.
God declares war on us to convince us that we cannot win. Our best plan is to surrender. I see you have, as i did, have chosen to counter-attack. Y'shua is our advocate, our peacemaker. Do consider terms of peace. Out time is running out. We need you
@maynardkeenan14 Y'shua's blood pact cancels out all others. You need but ask. Then, you? Expect the whirlwind, as the little boss will not be amused. If you ask me, i will pray for you. We are recruiting!
@maynardkeenan14 i'm not, anymore. but your music had more "power" than even Metallica. When i came back to the faith, i had to stand down, threw away all my cd's. that was '05-15? i could tell you stories...
You had me until you insulted Tom Sawyer.. Turn on a camera and lets watch you play it. Neil Peart and Rush are among the finest most talented rock musicians the world was blessed to have experienced.
Should you see your Maker's face tonight, Look Him in the eye, look Him in the eye, and tell Him: "I never lived a lie, never took a life, but surely saved one. Hallelujah, it's time for you to bring me home." Judith Marie🪽 ❤️
Much love to Maynard for his strength in that interview. It's a beautiful thing you're doing for her. In a way, allowing her to travel... You've given her another set of wings 😢
Meshuggah were very likely inspired by Rush's YYZ intro. Todays Tom Sawyer is Meshuggah! I think they might have also been influenced by the outro riff on Soundgardens Rusty Cage.
El Esperio Siberiano. This freak of nature can play shit faster with one hand then most people I know and pull off 9 different rhythms against each other with only 4 limbs.
He has amazing talent and can play things very few can. Yet it does not sound the same in the room as it does on the video. He uses a lot of compression and samples to get it to sound perfect. Not saying he doesn’t play the notes just saying a lot of those notes while in time might be off key .
@@mikeb.7183 I also noticed in some of his videos his stick goes for the floor tom, but there's no strike impact on the head. As if he didn't even touch it with the stick.
