I really feel for St Kilda as a West Coast fan. It was absolutely devastating to see a singular bounce of a ball cost St Kilda their first premiership in 44 years and 2 in over 100 years. I really hope St Kilda can do better and eventually break their drought.
What a game, never celebrated at the final siren that hard in my life. Nothing beats the agony on the faces of the Carlton supporters at the final siren.
This is very cool that you’ve got the whole 7 broadcast of the day . Was awesome looking back and watching the pregame and the game itself is an amazing grand final. 2010 seems like yesterday
On the ground, I thought I saw number 8 Bailey Scott, no, it's the father Robert, same number. Football skill wise, physicality wise, gene works its wonder, like father like son!
Lost by 2 points and 5 points. A combined total of 7 points in losses for the home and away season. 20 wins and 2 losses and were such a dominant team that year, but just could not get over the line when it counted. To only lose by 13 points total over 3 losses all year. This will always be the season that got away for St Kilda.
Lions fan here but we loved big Fraser when we were young. Few mates Saints supporters who genuinely lived to watch this bloke, what a machine and the type of player we don't see anymore.
That last minute and a half still makes me extremely nervous even though I know what and what happened the next week, that bounce just out of reach. Thankfully we got it right the week later.
Hearing Quartermain on commentary is so refreshing coming back to this. He has so much energy and investment into every moment of play. In comparison, i cannot stand James Brawshaw covering our game. So many moments of any match he is silent as the grave
This is what it means to the Saints fans, it means so much to them, haven't won a trophy in over 30 years at that point. Pre Season or not, its a trophy that a club can proud of and add to its collection. They should definitely bring back the pre season cup.
Incredible game. Thanks for posting. Broke a 60 year record to become the biggest win of all time but only held the record for 13 weeks before being broken by Fitzroy over Melbourne. Still Collingwood’s biggest ever win and St.Kilda’s biggest ever loss.
