I found that sunny weather makes the wow and flutter worse (doubles it) compared to nights or overcast weather. I suspect solar panel inverters create dirty power that affects the speed control. I don't have any solar panels, but of course that doesn't matter. When no sun, the W&F is in spec even after 45 years. I can't measure the rumble, but there's no audible or measureable change in the noise from the pre amp, with the turntable disconnected, connected but off, connected and running. I'm happy with that result. It's also not sensitive to external vibrations.
Good look but bad hardware inside. This recorder is design trap. Behind nice design is creepy and cheap DC motors, stupid belts as source of technical fails. Technically this is junk. Is better to own GX 635 or 636 (for example) wich is great machines.
