Typical arrogant cyclist behaviour. These are the same well-to-do guys who can afford big Teslas, Audis and BMWs and they drive with this entitled, arrogant way. Ffs, don't overtake a big bus especially not on a narrow serpentine in Mallorca, moreover when there's every kind of traffic coming from the other direction. It beggars belief honestly!
As a Mallorcan you stupid cyclists are f*cking annoying, glad we don't have you here this year because of covid one can at least drive without being held up by a bunch of morons that take up half the road.
Off season, or crack of dawn for Sa Calobra or Formentor. Most of the other roads in the mountains have fairly light traffic any time of the day or any day of the year. Especially the Tramuntana south of Soller.
We were given some great advice there: you get tangled up in traffic on the descent, simply pull over soak up the panoramic view. Get going again just before the next clot of traffic arrives and enjoy a stretch of clear pavement. Repeat as necessary. AFAIK there are no prizes for getting to the bottom fastest. On many of the switchbacks the busses have to virtually stop to make the turn even if there is no other traffic.
Same breed as the one who drafts a bus down a twisting mountain road. Here's a clue: Most bus drivers are concerned about the safety of everyone around them. Sitting on a bus's bumper serves as a major distraction while they need to be focused on the road. Think again.
