I have used a Dala battery upgrade can bridge in the original ZE0 (2010-2012) leaf and could not endorse it for a commercial install. There are too many bugs. The big bugs were 1. Fast charging causes fault codes that brick the car. I was stranded at the charger for a few minutes. Cycling the on/off button a few times did get me mobile, and Leafspy Pro cleared the codes 2. Charge bars scale poorly, and without a charge % (like AZE0 has) display it is mandatory to have leafspy running 3. SoH bars displayed 12 bars despite the battery being a 10 bar The EV's Enhanced is a much better option for ZE0 battery upgrades For AZE0 (2013 - 2017), the Dala can bridge works perfectly. I have a 2016 Leaf running a 62KWh battery and the conversion is flawless.
Anyone out there know of a manufacturer that sells or can make a replacement kitcken countertop with at least a 5" made in backsplash? Do not wany any precuts in top surface. Thank you in advance ❤
Unfortunately it was from a grey market reseller who has now run out of stock, I can see two other options, one get one from Germany, the online sellers appear to be willing to sell to Canada, you wouldn't be able to get one with electric coils as they are 240 volts in Europe. Two, there is a Chinese copy you can find on AliExpress Jp something, I have seen some favorable reviews but we are dealing with a gas appliance so who knows
Hi, i'm hoping you can tell me the name of or where to source the hydraulic table leg you put in your Boler. Comments are closed for that video so i'm asking here.... thanks!
How consistent is it to get credit for your current battery? Was running into your research institute a fluke or one off, wherein like this will not be the case for majority of us? In general, does our current battery have any resell value and if so, can one pre arrange for the sale of it in order to put towards the 40 khz new one?
Its great that you can do this conversion. But the fact that the pack will degrade even faster than the 24kwh makes it not worth it. Better to but an EV with effective battery cooling
Another vote for Dala's CAN-bridge as I have been using it in a 40kWh upgrade I did for almost a year now. Another big advantage: the additional hardware is housed INSIDE the car; there is nothing UNDER the car "exposed" to the elements.
Every car has hundreds of items and miles of wiring "Exposed to the elements", does that worry you? I prefer the EV's Enhanced kit as it is a profession clean installation.
Getting a used leaf battery is difficult, and expensive. EVs Enhanced is working on a actively cooled brand new leaf pack. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2eLe92OAeoU.html
Nissan primarily does not want to sell the pack. They want people to buy a car. There a company in CA, QC Charge and they somehow are able to purchase brand new battery packs from Nissan. I think the owners brother works for Nissan in the battery division.
Dala has recently resolved the 40kWh coding and after the Dala firmware update it was shown working correctly on a rapid with an eNV200 with a 40kWh upgrade. If I recall it was a light bulb moment and he just made all the relevant report commands Zero?
does the battery upgrade help with level 3 charge speed, I have a 2012 leaf with its original 24kw battery, its so slow to charge, like it will go full rate (between 40-50kw) on an empty battery for a few minutes and then it rapidly drops down to the 20's, then the 10's, I know a 30kw leaf will charge at full speed until like 90% and I imagine a 40kw leaf is similar, at least when the battery isn't hot, does the 40kw battery pack charge like a 40kw leaf or still like its a 2012 24kw leaf?
It charges at 45 kw till 55% it then tapered to 35kw at 66% I stopped the charge at that point, this was on an average warm day, I haven’t tried multiple quick charges as the leaf is our city car
Your 2012 LEAF has a 24kWhour (kWh) battery pack. Don't forget the important unit of time otherwise you are describing rate. Second, your 2012 LEAF has 3300 watt or 3.3kW onboard charger. This charger determines the charge rate and speed of 120VAC and 240VAC charging or level 1 and 2, respectively. When you DC fast charge, it's an offboard charger and your battery controller determines charge rate and speed NOT the battery size (i.e. 24kWh VS 40kWh)
I have 2011 Nissan Leaf and the battery get degrade. would you please let me know can I use 2019 battery to replace my old battery, and where is purchase for the battery
Yes, in my comments below the video are the links to the company I used to install my battery, and to the company that developed the technology to make it work. If that doesn't work for where you live, try Dala his solution is more universal. dalasevrepair.fi/can-bridges/
absolutely ridiculous what these things cost. I think we're all being sold a big bill of goods about EVs. They're not any cheaper, they don't save the environment, and they are actually less convenient than an ICE.
@@adotintheshark4848 EV has a long way to go still. I am going to wait before making a choice myself. Gasoline will also need to be a lot higher by then. LoL But I do like the EV concept in general. Fill up the "tank" while I sleep. ;-)
@@dexschris3996 do you know the environmental damage that goes into mining lithium? Also, the emissions from power plants? Your statement is both ignorant and irrelevant.
@@adotintheshark4848 Do you know that power is now generated in ways other than power plants? Do you know that battery isn't the only source for electric vehicles? Your statements show you choose to be ignorant and will soon be irrelevant, Mr. Poop.
My understanding is that it needs to be purchased through a dealer in your country. Contact them and find out what the latest info is for where you are located.
0:30 The guy in Finland, whose real name is Daniel Öster, uses the moniker "Dala." Dali - Salvador Dali - was a Surrealist Painter from Spain. Nissan has offered to install a shiny, new 40kWh battery in my 2011 for US$13,400. Factory supported and warranted, and just down the street. Though the warranty and support is nice, I'm probably not going to do that. I am planning to procure a 62kWh battery myself from a yard about 200 miles away, and replace my 75% SOH 24kWh battery. The major difference between the 40kWh and 62kWh batteries is an extra inch and half of height (I'll use square steel bars and longer bolts,) and about 75 miles of added range, which should be good for about 220 miles on a single charge. I will probably use Dala's CAN bridge, because he's added functionality that Nissan should have already added: disable regen braking (for better highway range performance,) and the ability to set a charge level at levels other than 80 and 100%. But you're right, he's hacking the CAN to do things it doesn't already, and sometimes it misbehaves. Most of the reported problems in the list seem to be fast charging in eastern Europe. github.com/dalathegreat/BatteryUpgrade-UserManual It's a community project, and the work continues, as you observed about the solution from EVs Enhanced (5:35)
@@dexschris3996 Based on a video I just watched (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rvxscjtniIQ.html,) the CAN bridge is no longer BatteryID-dependent. I've had my mind changed about the need to throw money at a new battery, at least for now. I still have 18kWh of capacity in a 5-year-old Lizard battery. In other news, my wife (who occasionally uses the Leaf) is less than thrilled at the prospect of a DIY battery installation. There's also the issue of the unavailability of traction batteries if you aren't the one who buys the crashed car in the first place. I can buy a wreck myself, but then I'm out $16-$20K just to buy it, and I can't tell her what I'll get for the rest of the car. She makes the case for a Nissan-installed and warranted shiny new 40kWh battery. So far, I've been losing about 1kWh per year (or 5% SOH;) by the time we need a replacement for that, newer tech may already be available. A solid-state third-party product? A 75kWh battery? Anyway, that's what happened.
@@stevejordan7275 I've partnered with Daniel and have his CAN bridge in stock. I have several 24, 40, 62kWh replacement packs as well. If you're in the US and close to TX, I can help when it's time and you're ready
