This is such a slap on the wrist offense to be frank. He was accused of accepting bribes from Turkey, a NATO ally to the US. And a country that has been begging the US to provide proper funding through the proper legal channels for YEARS now. We couldn't get my now (turkish) wife a tourist visa because the wait time for an appointment at the US embassy was over 2 years long. Last I checked was last year, and the wait time for an appointment was until early 2026, and that's just to see if they would even approve you. I might be biased when I say this, but this is absolutely hypocritical of US officials if this escalates further. Money from lobbyists who are in it for their own personal gains are ok, but foreign allies needing to use the back door just to get actual support is problematic?
