Well, apart from the reverb making up for the timing errors, I can conclude it sounds exactly like cajones of different sizes being hit. Octapad + foot controllers from Roland are more portable and versatile.
i was trying to find the instrument that made that sound in "Livin' In The Sunlight, Lovin' In The Moonlight" but all other wood blocks didn't sound hollow enough, this sounds just like it!
