Shortly after I put the Akra, I did also a DNA Stage 2 air filter. Not sure which one of the mods, or both combined, but I dropped to 4.8l/100km when riding with my wife and luggage on Road mode vs 5.0-5.1l/100km before.
Sounds almost the same to me except some more grunt note from the akra. OEM with the Rallye model so I would assume same loudness level of noise to comply with Euro 5. Looks good, but not worth the money imo.
Yeah the stock is quite good as well once you compare them. The video may not capture it super well, but the Akra has a bit of that “braaap” enduro bike sound to it 😄
Much needed indeed! Around the 17th minute I show what I put - Mitas E07+. It has been 8 months now and they are handling pretty good the places I visit 🍻
Yep! So this is for the Shad E-04P tank bag. Now I am not sure I would recommend it as the mounting screws may be dangerous if you are offroading without it.
The akra does sound great and I'm all for louder pipes save lives, but on the GS i'm maybe not so sure, these bikes are mostly for touring around the EU and some of these countries are getting really strict about the loudness of a bike, don't get me wrong its not a decat sports bike by any means, but im not sure its actually worth the extra £900 on a GS
Bought black Akra and went for a ride. I came back, let it get cooler and took if off and installed the OEM again. Too much noise for me. Eaven with the OEM I ride with earplugs on highway. I’m probably too sensitive😂
It has been a while now with it. I like it and every time I ride I am reminded why. I tend do ride a bit more on dirt nowadays and it has that "dirt bike" sound especially in the 2-4k rpm. Have not tried sc project, but I personally like more the form/looks of this one vs a more "standard" shaped exhaust.
My theory with almost 50 years in motorcycling, riders love to bling up their motorcycles and when there is nothing left to buy, they sell it and start all over again. What a waste of money and time. I guess to them motorcycling isn't about riding. I on the other hand have been places.
Thank you Venu! The cable is part of AltRider's pedal and is what they call "snake" - the idea is for it to prevent branches from being stuck between the pedal and the chassis of the bike. If a branch is stuck there while riding you will not be able to use the brake they say. Not sure how real and often this scenario is, but decided to add the part.
@@wannabadv Thanks so much for the information. Was a little concerned about the boot getting stuck in between the "snake", but looks like it wouldn't. Again, excellent video. Safe travels my friend.
I subscribed to MOTORRAD magazine for over a decade. They used to test five or more aftermarket exhausts and compared then to the stock unit. No gains worth talking about and in most cases it was worse. Not by much. They stopped doing those tests probably due to the manufacturers advertizing with them.
For $1500 USD? If I’ve got money to burn, sure why not. But I don’t, so mine is still stock! My Mosko Moto panniers offer far more utility for the money!
Nice video. But pleasssseee, do not add such annoying music! Although it helps me shorten the time to view and listen to what you want to show and tell…
Yes that's right, except this Akrapovic doesn't crack and has no backfire at all. WHY?? (my Akrapovic Titanium under 2009'GSA is beautiful and it pops/explodes every time)
