Please just straight up tell people it might hurt. Everyone's body is different. My mom told me she didn't feel a thing when she had to have them, but when I went in it felt like I was gonna tear open down there. Spoke to friends and most of them told me that yeah, any kind of pelvic exam hurts to varying degrees. So yeah. Please just be aware that it more than likely will hurt.
I had a prostate mri about a month and a half ago. I had 3 lesions showing about a 3 on a scale of 1-5. Two days ago I had a prostate biopsy done. I will find out next week the results. To all men….don’t mess around with this. Don’t wait. Stay on top of your health. Stay on top of your prostate unless you want to wear diapers or have a catheter inserted.
You see where it says oasis thats where the top should be.not 6 inches from the top of your chest.not comfortable.after my MRI I couldn't walk at out from MRI
I went twice to do head mri and could not do it after they put that head mask on top of your head, I get panic attack and nothing can help, then my DR prescribed Diazepam 5mg 2 tablets 1 30 min before the procedure and one just the before the procedure, I never took one and was scared of the reaction of it, so i asked my friend to go with me, to all who are scared make sure you ask the mri place if your friend can be in the room with you, because after i took valium, the radiologist told me if you want your friend to be in the room with you, she can, i was like wow, if i would know i would not even take the medication, then she put me in and put that head mask on top, I asked if she has mirror to attach to it, this way you can see all outside the machine, i was not scared anymore because i could see my friend sitting in the room and the window where radiologist seat, but as soon as she pulled me inside of machine in less than a few minutes i was knocked out from valium, i slept then she pulled me back in to put hte contrast but i did not care cause i wanted to continue to sleep, and then she pulled me and told me its over, it seemed like it took 5 minutes and i even asked my friend did you see her putting contrast cause i did not feel and my friend said yes. The reason i wrote so much, its to to help someone like me, i dont think theres a person more claustrophobic than me, but ive done mri before and had no issue, the issue was the head mask locked and you feel like if you press that ball an they cant hear you, thats it)) but when you have someone in the room with you its not scary. so just ask them to attach mirror to that mask and if i knew they would let my friend inside the room i would not even take valium but all together it helped. Hope it helps, cause I read so many reviews to easy my fear, hopefully it will help someone.
Thank you for the video. I had this upright MRI in another state (4/18/24) for cervical neck issues. I'm very claustrophobic and had no issues with claustrophobia. The chair was already moved back in the center. I just went in and sat down and they put a cervical collar around my neck. Actually, from the patients (my) perspective, looking out-word, (from my view) it was a little more open then what the camara person is showing in this video. I have broad shoulders that were touching the sides (of the magnets), but I was not uncomfortable. My only issue, it was warm in there (stuffy). The sides of the magnets were warm. They had a fan on a table in front of me which I asked them to turn on. They also had a TV on the wall for me to watch. The MRI test took about a 35 minutes. I just needed to hold my neck still. Not the easy thing to do. If your claustrophobic this type of MRI is the way to go. I hope my experience helps those who were wondering.
I have a pacemaker as well. Even though my Medtronic pacemaker is "MRI safe" the stand alone MRI facilities in the DFW area all refused me. Only places that would do it were hospitals that either already have the pacemaker diagnostic equipment or have a representative from the pacemaker manufacturer there with you while the MRI is done. Also it has to be a 3T MRI as the 1.5T doesn't provide the needed resolution.
Replying for a recent experience. Just had this done two hours ago. I felt a poke and a sting for no more than two seconds, and that was it. I spent so much time worrying over this and felt like an idiot once it was done lol. The MRI wasn’t exactly comfortable but it wasn’t bad at all. I did not have a history of dislocation, so those that have dislocated their shoulder before could have a different experience when it comes to the “arm over head” imaging. Relax, and don’t sweat it!
Everyone body is different I have to get another transvaginal ultrasound tomorrow it wasn’t painful for me. The best advice is to not tense or clench vaginal muscles. Make sure they use enough lubrication and it should slide right in. It was quick too. This is way more comfortable than a Pap smear
