I needed a DIY tip for fitting the replacement cartridge in the grooves. This video helped me a ton.

Thank you for this video. Some of us who are just trying to do it ourselves and save some money, appreciate the time you take to show us your experiences. We can all learn from each other!

My cartridge fit just fine .... EXCEPT, the bottom rubber gasket in the new cartridge was slightly thicker and had a very, very thin washer the middle of it. That extra space prevented the cartridge from sitting completely flush with the water line so water leaked out of the bottom of the handle. I used the rubber gasket from the old cartridge and the clearance was reduced enough for everything to work fine.

Well for one @3:16 you have the aerator in backwards! I just replaced mine with the Danco 3S-11C, no issues with the fit. Fit perfectly!

Same with me, I did it a few hours ago and it fits well.

Glad I watched this. My Glacier Bay model is just like this only in Polished Brass (which is nearly impossible to find). I was considering maybe buying an entire new Chrome Glacier Bay set for $35, just to use the cartridge(s) from it. Thanks for this workaround.

Never use Vaseline. Use a silicone grade grease. Go to the swimming pool supply and ask for Magic Lube.

Just completed this repair on the same faucet at my home with the same Danco part (3s-11c) with No issues with the fit. When I took out the original cartridge I noticed a white washer was left behind, once I dug that out with a small screwdriver the Danco replacement part fit perfectly.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will buy the Danco for now (saving the receipt) and if that does not work out, I might have to buy an entire new Chrome set for about $35, just for the hot and cold cartridges. Mine is Polished Brass and that finish is impossible to find anymore. :(

Have the same exact faucet. What is the part number for Glacier Bay cartridge? Need to replace mine.

3S-11C Cold Stem for Glacier Bay Faucets is what he used. His thinking of using the old casing from the genuine Glacier Bay cartridge and combining it with the new Danco "guts" is brilliant.
