Riverdale love to play with different genre like comedy musical, film noir, flash-back. It's like a way to touch different genre that had impact in the history of cinéma, like musical between 1930 and 1950, film noir between the 1940s and 1950s. And I find that, for someone who actually watched it, have à lot of good references of classici movies, books, era. Before watching it I thought that it was really bad but I kinda starter liking it. It's a little mess and some informations seem to have holes in it but I love how they work with serial killers, cults, paranormal. It feel out of all the teenagers-series out there where its the same story over and over but with different point of view
I think we can all agree that this choreography sucks ass, if riverdale continues this concerning choreo, I will promise my friends to never watch it xoxo
fun fact: JD talked about blowing up the school and watching it burn in the musicals, i never watched the actual movie though- i suppose in that scene with Betty and Jug was supposed to be symbolic?
For the "How is this a part of the musical?" part, The burning and them in the car together I'm guessing is supposed to be a reference to how in the Heathers movie (The movie the musical was from) JD was talking to Veronica about destroying the school while sitting and watching.
I’ve watched a lot of these ‘riverdale cringe/bad writing’ type compilations and always assume that there’s gonna be loads of repeated stuff in each of them. But there isn’t, the bad writing on this show is bottomless and seemingly happens every 30 seconds, it’s unbelievable 😂
On point lol! Well their genre is completely diff from Glee coz Glee is abt showchoir competitions and it is legit a musical comedy drama series, Riverdale is unexpected but hell yea it’s cringe, Roberto who once worked with Glee maybe just forced these casts for some musical episodes which I can see that they are probably approve of but they cant do anything.
Out of all the musicals, why did they choose these ones? Why not like Grease? The aesthetic of the show fits more with Grease than the other ones. But I'm not complaining, I don't want to see Beauty School Dropout get sung by Hiram towards Veronica with autotune.
I’m very convinced that Netflix were sent this by an eleven year old Wattpad writer... it all fits- I mean the weird musicals that make no sense- The dodgy sex scenes- The completely unconnected crimes- Nothing making any sense- It’s that or they are in the matrix...?
1: Cheryl saying “legit” had me screaming 2: the first “the world according to Chris” was kinda good tho (the rest wasn’t) 3: KJ’s dancing is amazing I can’t-
