Usually bomb because Malice is already such a low cooldown at max rank.

Solid, well-paced video. Would you consider improving your in-game guide by adding comments, i.e. general buy-order / fully writing out what ability to imbue with certain items / when to buy some items over others? You go over some abilities/items/imbuements in this video/guide but it would be unrealistic to reference this video mid-match.

Those are some good points. I just improved the build path a ton so hopefully it's a bit easier to navigate in-game. Also now most of the items have annotations as well. Thanks for the heads up on this!

Someone tried this with me the other day, I am still really new but play warden. Ran around a corner chasing a geist for her to turn and switch my health, she however didn't let me get her low enough so I popped my ult and ended on full health but it deffo made me check my pants afterwards 🤣

I have the most damage every Lady Geist game, I try to push for objectives and attend every teamfights unlike some afk farmers. BUT, in the late game, team just dies one by one for nothing, middle of the map and even my DEFENDER ESSENCE BOMB CANNON LADY GEIST V3000 SILVERLAKE cannot win the game. Even in the high rank ranked matches, some dudes prefer afk farm or rage quit after dying middle of the map for nothing and cries to the team, grieving then quits from the game. Horribble experience 10/10 gonna queue for next match.

try 1 2 m5 m4 for skills and 3 4 C E for items. obv binds are very personal, but these do not mess with default binds for other things. you might also want to try instant casts cuz they eliminate a lot of inputs and feel less overwhelming.

yeah, i do agree with you. I ah difficulties with pressing the actual buttons quick enough. To use some active items you need to press 3 times to use them on yourself, same with some ultimates, etc. I recommend switching to quick cast or immediate cast to make the process easier

A few alternate binds I see used often are E and mouse buttons. These are much easier than Z, X, C. This is just for the item binds though

I use the same ability buttons as overwatch (+1 because overwatch only has 3 abilities) and I use 1,2,3,4 for items (like selecting weapons in other games). My punch key in overwatch is the shop key in deadlock so I moved the shop to 5, it took a couple of games to get used to but it's not so bad. I haven't found a satisfactory key for zipline yet though I want to move away from using space because it can cause issue when jumping from roof (it messed up a few plays for me with Lash). Parry was tough, I use the key that I usually keep for sprint in most games. I might have a few more keys available because I play ESDF instead of WASD

Personally i dont like this build its not bad by any means, but you are downplaying the power of bomb late game. My build revolves around making bomb hit really hard. Buy improve reach, Superior cooldown on bomb, mystic reverb on bomb and escalating exposure. The range that bomb can increase is absurd, and will always be hitting people in team fights. Malice with superior cooldown will practically be up always so spam it as much as you can. Granted I play aggressive as a back liner since this build will have you with low HP a lots of times, if you can buy leach you are good, but always buy spirit lifesteal and enduring spirit for some sustain. My games usually run for about 30-40min and I end up with 50K healing its crazy how good life drain is when the opponent has 5 stacks of malice and escalating exposure on.|

I actually build all of those items the same. The only difference is mystic reverb on malice over bomb. I can see how fully playing around bomb can be really fun though.

@@zilliq-qz5uw yeah echoshard + alchemist fire on bomb build feels amazing. enemies cant fight on ground combined with mistic slow. also double long duration silence with echo shard is kinda crazy into heroes like pocket and yamato too which are kinda popular these days.

whats your opinion on getting infuser early game and getting 2 ranks of siphon first? I prefer this over bomb but lately I think I am starting to get into lobbies with more sweats and it's just not the same breeze of a match

I like that idea I just don’t think there’s enough opportunities to get full value from your siphon early to make it ‘viable’. Players already just LOS you in lane when you life drain them. If you they noticed you have infuser and T2 siphon, they’ll definitely just avoid extended trades. That’s a fun strat though. Life Drain definitely slept on sometimes.

Great video! Good advice. Other Tier IV items I like on geist is Echo Shard for double bomb, and double silence with your 2. It also gives you some bullet resist. Escalating Exposure is also really good. Stacking that item while getting malice stacks will make you chunk the enemy team. The extra spirit resist is nice as well. Also don't sleep on the upgrade for mystic reach. huge area bombs and extra bullet resist is really nice late game. Also while Geist is great with a spirit build, Boundless spirit is something she doesn't need. Other tier IV's mentioned in this video are more important pickups. I'd also rather have Escalating Exposure and Echo Shard over Boundless Spirit.

All great points! The echo shard for double life drain sounds fun. The other things you mentioned are actually in my build, I just didn’t explicitly talk about it. I forgot to mention the build is public. I gotta make some final edits now that I posted the video.

You do want to get your burrow up fast as possible, but in some matchups, you want to take T2 scorn with mystic burst for a huge heal. You can also increase this even more by taking quicksilver reload.

Agreed! I've actually been going for T2 scorn early now pretty often. The build where you rush T2 Combo is definitely more for team play.

I agree with most of these suggestions however I'm not sure if I agree on more diffensive bases, and I definitely don't agree on comback mechanincs. I'm 1950 nekoscore tops, so not like I can talk about what's happening in high elo\actual competitive games, but I do watch priority games a lot as well and I guess my elo covers like 70-90% of games. Anyways: More comback mechanincs: I used to play dota back than, (low elo) and hated that my losing games all the times was like: you know that ur going to lose from minute 10, but you can't do anything, nor give the game up, bit still have to play 50mins matches where the enemy just having a blast owning you have no chance to get back in the game economically, yet the winning team has no reason to finish the game up any time soon. So that's why you need comback mechanics, so that the game gets interesting for both teams, and also incentivise the winning team to finish the game of, sooner rather than later. But I also hate what has become to Leage(low elo as well), which is full of comback mechanics where you literally have to sweat blood and tears and do 0 mistakes otherwise the game literally punishes for being good. You can go 10.0 than die to the wrong enemy and lose 20 mins of perfect gameplay (perfect=as good as you can be expected to play on your elo) There you can have a bounty just bc you had great farm, or be 5\0 and have no bounty bc u farmed badly. I feel like Deadlock has found a pretty nice plaace between the 2 ends, and that's a petty hard thing to do. Obviously these things feel different on different elos and this is just my opinion. But feel like high elo games are fast but not too fast, and lowelo games are long, but not painfully hard for them to finish\or participate in when losing. And also deny system is an equalizer system imo, and apart from bounties there are the loseable souls from jungling. I think lowelo games are long enough already where added deffences and more comeback mechanics would just make 50min games for them every time. And you have to consider, lowelo is literally most of the games played. The changed early game deffence buffs are fine they made recently: weaker early midboss buff, stronger troopers and guardians, guardian range protection thing. But I don't want this game to be like league where even little timmy has to have his fun so the whole game is a frustrating constant battle of back and fourths. That's just my opinion tho.

I like your comparison between league and dota. I also think they’ve struck a decent balance. The change to soul urn helped a lot. Before when the soul urn carrier was always revealed, it was very hard to sneak the urn as the losing team. And that is one of the best potential comeback mechanics currently. I just believe it may be worth testing a few more small things like this that may give the losing team hope to catch up. I wouldn’t say going as far as LoL has gone is necessary though. The game is still in alpha so there’s definitely time to test things out.

Idk if I'm alone here but the item shop is actually really annoying. I'm sure this is going to be changed as time goes on but we really need better icons for the items, we have the division with colors but there's no "character" to the item icons themselves, just a stencil on a colored background. They need to take some time to flesh out each icon so that it's easier to read visually at a glance (like LoL or Dota), because currently I have to spend so much extra time deciphering what I'm looking at and it doesn't have to be that way. Also let me see what formula items build into on an extra panel on the right or left, I hate that I can have a formula item in a build, but if it's final build is not included then I have to go into one of the item tabs to build it out.

Great point, I completely agree. I didn't talk about this because I suspect this is one of the things that will come with time. I'm hoping they'll redo all the icons and names of the items in the shop to have 'in world' names like in dota or league.

torment pulse still does damage while in burrow, and combined with the tankiness you get from burrow, you can get some good trades by just staying under someone for the full duration.

Good video! Could I offer advice. When displaying stats and information, increase time to like 3+ seconds. It makes it easier to find and pause on.

The HP bar and health indicator on minimap are something I've been suggesting. Coming from League of Legends I have a lot of trouble judging who is low during ganks across the map.

awesome video, I get annoyed looking at the bottom right for the map, then my teams movements/location, then my teams HP and enemy HP at the top, then everyone's small ult icons to see what is active or not, eyes going vertically 3-4 times. Great suggestions, especially the health depletion, I'm in support of your outlook

1:04 Showing their health on their silhouette (color + how much it is filled) would be a better way. And also they should make silhouettes more visible Also the player's health should be more visible (health bar above your own character?) And the base guardians should be visible from the spawn. Too many guardians die just because one has to be an olimpic champion in gymnastics to get a sightline to the base guardians fast

@@bavinngames they already have silhouettes, so it shouldn't be a problem to give them color and make them "empty" as the character loses health. Add an outline, so they are always visible (even then almost no health)

Hope they completely rework haze's abilities. As it stands the only build is ult build(ricochet, silencer, unstoppable), she disappears for the whole game to farm and build it and then it can be hard countered (curse) to make that null and void when shes already had little game impact. There's no variation or anything useful about it and it doesn't rely on the team like other op ults. Nerfs and buffs will just ping pong it from unplayable to broken, the hero needs a rework

I like the double sleeping dagger punch build, it’s pretty troll but fun to watch lol. I think your point about haze is pretty applicable to many carry heroes. But I do agree that people rely too much on your ult to carry. If you just build around her bullet damage she can be a great back-line assassin.

I would kind of like it if there was a extra XL version gamemode where there for example is way more walkers and guardians or multiple patron's resulting in a way larger amount of progression needed to get things done, It would also be kinda fun in the sense you'd get to know your opponents better. I'm not acquainted with moba's so this might be stupid, but I think it would have a bit more room for error and slow down the snowballing in a sense.

1. I find this kind of a non problem. Ig it wouldnt hurt tho. Just seems unnecessary. 2. Tbh it could just be one health bar. I think the increase to show extra health isnt necessary as it doesnt really show u how tanky they are due to damage resistence playing a massive role in hardiness. U can have a massive amount of hp but no resistences. 3. The railing preventing me from shooting down at enemies who are fighting my guardians is annoying. Itd be huge to shoot enemies from relatively safe locations. And it just makes sense. U want the enemy walking through chokes that give u angles and them none. 4. This will forever be a topic of debabte. Currently it feels u can always come back as long as u can kill the enemy. But this comeback is offset by snowball mechanics like urn which usually helps the enemy get ahead especially now that urn is easier to steal. This is always a complicated point. 5. Yeah crosshairs r nice. More plz.

there’s no separate option for a secondary keybind, only the primary option. you can map multiple actions to the same button, but that isn’t the same thing

These are all excellent suggestions. The healthbar dissonance is arguably the best point: all healthbars deplete horizontally except the ones right on top heroes. Your suggestion is a really good one. I actually think they will implement this if you tell them this suggestion quite fast. The base being weak on defense I can see being a good point, but I think this relates more to how incredibly deathball oriented the game is in high mmr games. Objectives fall way too quickly at any oriented push. There needs to be some kind-of countermeasure for losing teams to not just get instarolled the moment the opponent is noticably ahead economy wise. I think something along the lines of making objectives "do more" when defending allies are near them in some capacity, perhaps negate this bonus if the pushing team is under the influence of the mid boon (which is easily contested as opposed to pushing teams - which are at no real disadvantage to defenders currently). Addressing this will probably address that issue too. The games should not become too deathball oriented. I think the best way to illustrate this is pro games in Dota 2 vs pro games in League of Legends. The latter has always been "just deathball objectives straight into victory", while Dota 2 has a way more dynamic macro strategy. It would be very strange to have a Valve game fall for Riot's mistake as opposed to having their own game learn from their own predecessors.

wow, great idea for the structures gaining strength with allies nearby. I think this would address the deathball problem well while making defending structures feel less frustrating when the enemy team just ignores you and insta kills your walker/guardian.

Oh I like that idea a lot. Another one that I didn't include here is having the ability upgrade points next to the item categories where you'd get them. Just so it's more clear where your power spikes are. Idk if that made total sense but hope you get what I'm saying.

Some champ has a different crosshair (Eg. shiv, yamato, pocket). It should have a option that keep the crosshair unchanged among different champ
