Comparing maronda to bob webb is not helpful. Bob webb builds multi million dollar custom homes while a maronda is a few hundred k. You get what you pay for. Would be more interested in comparing builders that compete at same price point
Columbus is my hometown I have lived here all my life and while housing is cheaper than New York and California our violence rate is huge 18% versus the USA average of 22% and getting worse. We do not have enough police here and our traffic congestion is a nightmare as more and more people move here. The influx of people moving here has increased our crime rate. It's not only good people who want to move here unfortunately. Do not buy in the inner city. Anna In Ohio
Columbus has the most impatient drivers. They have been voted third most impatient drivers in America. And an impatient driver is a dangerous driver. “Tail Gate city”. Everywhere you drive you will be tail gated. Get ready to disregard the speed limit or you will be passed in the most dangerous situations. Generally, speed over curtsy. A speed limit is a “limit” not a mandatory speed. Twenty five miles an hour is the worst speed limit. There is a good chance you will be passed no matter how dangerous the situation. Everyone is pushing or being pushed. In an accident, you cant tell the Judge - “Everybody else does it.” How did your rear end a car that was traveling at a legal speed?
The tourists thing is OK for me. I used to live in LA and it was annoying. Im just looking for something calm. Im in Austin and its OK but I prefer colder weather. I mostly am looking for hiking/backpacking and parks.
I grew up in little ol’ Johnstown, OH. Graduated in 2007 in a class of 90 other seniors. It’s completely different now. Facebook moved in, Google moved in, and Amazon moved in. (All data centers). Johnstown is so much bigger now. It used to be just a small farming town. Now it’s the epicenter of data. Freaking crazy
You are lucky if you can see more than 10 stars in the sky over Columbus. It wasn’t that way when I was young. When I was young, you could see the Milky Way. That is no longer true. The night time sky is no longer dark. Lights are everywhere and on all night. 😔♌️

@yarathofficial404 3 minutes ago How much an hour I need to make, do you think to survive in Columbus Ohio with one child and for my wife, a stay at home mother? We are a simple family and dont need luxuary materials.
Columbus doesn't have good public transportation but what it does have it a lot of parking and it's very cheap, even downtown. A parking garage downtown is usually between 6 to 12 bucks. Seriously it's cheap and gas is not that expensive compared to other places. BTW it's the 14th largest city in America and in one day you can drive to NYC, Washington DC, Chicago and plenty of other cool places. Also Cleveland and Cincinnati are only a couple of hours and they are fun. I've been to about 30 states and 15 countries and the shitty drivers are everywhere. I don't know what he's talking about with the traffic it's actually not that bad for this size of city. You can basically drive just about anywhere in 20 minutes. If you know how to drive then stay out of the right lane and put it in the wind. If you don't know how to switch lanes on the freeway it probably will be a little slow going. I've lived here since 1985 and moved here when I was 20. I had a great time here in the 80s. Just to be clear this is not New York or something. If you want to live in Columbus and be a productive member of society and live a normal life you need to have a car. Some places are non-car owning cities and that's fine for them this is not one of those cities. You buy a car and you learn how to drive properly. Finding a place to park is rarely a problem. If it is you park as close as you can to where you're going and take an Uber or Lyft. That's usually 10 or 12 bucks.
COTA is in fact not an awesome public transit system. I use it on the regular and despite being less than 3 miles from my previous job, I consistently had to call my manager and ask for a ride because of something causing the buses to not run on time. It’s so rare that they run on time that it’s an actual joke for frequent riders. And if the buses are early, they’re REALLY early and even though they’re supposed to wait at a stop if they’re that early, it’s rare for a driver to do so. It’s also pretty common for drivers to just drive past your stop with you standing there, completely ignoring you. Anywhere outside of downtown and campus immediately goes from an every 10-20 minute frequency, to once every HOUR. Also, the bus lines are beyond annoying; not many of them go in a straight line. You can’t go straight down fifth avenue from the airport to grandview which makes no sense considering it’s one of the most major streets in Columbus. Anywhere outside of central Columbus, is extremely indirect. If you want to go from upper Arlington to Hilliard, you have to go DOWNTOWN to do that. When Hilliard is quite literally just on the other side of riverside dr. And don’t even get me started on the transit app. It straight up lies to you about 40% of the time. I was headed to an interview in Hilliard and it told me to go to downtown to get on the 32. I have a screenshot of it saying to get off on High and Long. When I got down there, the app was suddenly telling me I should’ve gotten off at east north broadway… 3-4 miles north of where i was. I passed east north broadway on my way downtown. COTA sucks. Do not move here if you don’t have a car and don’t want to spend money on Lyft/uber
Columbus is a dull and highly over-rated by Ohioans. Most people in America only know it through learning their state capitals. It’s kind of big nothing burger. I’ve been there a few times, and the residents seems to believe it’s the greatest place on earth. Yet, when you across the country, you find people who barely have even heard of this place.
WAIT...I live here, and one of the biggest Patriots you will want on your side! Columbus OHIO, is a Capitol City, you don't see the crime and homelessness, like you do in other cities around the country, we have The Ohio State University, a leading Cancer research center in America! We have a world known Zoo, The National Veterans Memorial and Museum! and so much other stuff to do here! I love Columbus for the last 25 years of my life. You people that say all this bad stuff about Columbus....GO LAY DOWN! lol
I was born in Columbus in 1967 and this city has changed for the worse. Crime is off the hook. Housing is very expensive and homelessness is right outside your door. The city is run by woke Democrats who are very corrupt. Columbus has some of the poorest foreigners who were dumped into the city. Morse Rd and Dublin Granville Rd looks like a 3rd world country. Black communities are in ruins. If you move here make sure you have life insurance because your life will be on the line.
I'm in Youngstown Ohio one of the cheapest places to live in the country. A lot of people who moved to Columbus have moved back. After selling there home in Columbus they rebought the same home in Youngstown and have a ton of money left over or bought a much nicer house. I went to Ohio State and enjoyed Columbus as a College student but as a working adult I'm happy to have left. For awhile people were pouring into Youngstown seeking an affordable life.
You fail to point out the big elephant in the room the Somalians and the illegals they are destroying American culture they have destroyed culture and tradition in Columbus you really don't see people anymore unless you go to the outskirts events or high Street😢😢😢😢
All the Texan and Oklahomans getting the good jobs you were promised. Getting high pay and causing rent to double. They'll go back home and we'll be left with poisoned aquifers. BTW notice how low the water is near the fracking. Some smaller lakes down 14ft at least and some reservoirs mostly drained. Sure actual farmers appreciate that.
@@MovingtoOhio 15 years this year in Johnstown . Prior to that I lived in Meigs County Ohio 1.5 miles from 5 points OH about 4 miles from Chester and 6 miles from Pomeroy. I have lived in Maryland, Virginia, Nebraska, Colorado, Texas, Japan & The Phillipines during my College and Air Force years, and temporary locations when driving truck if it was more economical to move to temporary residence than commuting.
I've lived in Columbus, Ohio, most of my life. The crime has increased over the years due to liberal mayor and the City Council. I blame their policies.
I've lived in Columbus (for the most part) since I was about 20 in the 90's. It has always felt like a small town city to me. It has definitely gotten more upscale over the years, but that is probably because a lot of people have moved here due to it being a cool place to live. Like the video said, lots of things to do all over town but the roads, lack of good public transportation, and moron drivers does suck. It's also a very diverse city. I grew up in small town Ohio and I have met so many different kinds of people from all over the world since I moved here.
As a native of C-Bus I agree with some of these things, but other things are just false. Lack of Historic charm? You mentioned German Village, how about Victorian Village, Franklinton, Old Town East, Italian Village, Clintonville, King-Lincoln, I can go on. I mean WOSU made a entire series called Columbus neighborhoods that showcased this. Lack of outdoor activities? I mean what does this even mean, there are tons of public parks, metro parks, golfing, Alum Creek and Hoover Reservoirs for boating The Zoo, Zoombezi Bay Waterpark, etc…. Same thing for entertainment, Sports, theatre, nightlife, COSI, Museums, etc… these two categories I have no clue why you would put into the video. Columbus has the same things to offer that other cities of its size do. The mountains thing is also kind of strange to add, I mean nowhere in the entire Midwest has mountains. But of any major midwestern cities Columbus and Cleveland are the closest. You can drive just over an hour and be in places like Hoking hills or Mohican State Parks which have Appalachian foothills and Amazing caverns or go another hour or so and be in the mountains of eastern Pa or West Virginia. I would have told people about those two places that are easy day trips and completely stunning. Other than these things good video I suppose.
This guy is FULL of 💩💩, where do you live? Columbus is one of the fastest growing cities in America WTF are you talking about?? You are not good for the people of Columbus!! STOP talking BAD about America!! You just said all that S__T about where I live PAL, and as you can see it has pissed me off! If you are a Patriot of America, you should be saying all the good things about America, and how great she is, and your love for this country!! America is Freedoms last stronghold, your GEN. needs to think about how to preserve that for you ALLs future.

Funny when you provide the facts and about why people are moving here, the usual folks from other parts of Ohio who always flood the comments on videos about Columbus, magically disappear...
The downsid is that the newcomers want to live close to downtown, but that means displacing the current poorer and fixed income residents who are literally pushed out in the street. Like Austin, the newcomers drive up prices and change the fabric of older neighborhoods.
