Used to live on the Abbapoola which feeds into the Stono. Some of the best yet crazy, hazy, inebriated times ever! Lol Sadly the house/cabin burned down in 1993-94🤔 I know it and Bohicket like the back of my hand.
and also, you don't show us how to hook into the camera, do you have to hook up the hdmi as well as the usb for power for the transmitter? or just hdmi? thank you!
If your camera only has a single HDMI out, and you want to run a small monitor on the camera rig, how do you send a signal to the tv? Would you use a HDMI splitter?
Great presentation, Adam! Interesting to see how you made this unique shoot work really well. "Wear your mask." - I 100% agree. Been saying that for months. Stay healthy and stay creative!
Cary Ann Hearst has one of the great singing voices in music. She is a treasure. Unfortunately, for some reason as Shovels and Rope they insist on singing every song together both verses and chorus as a muddy mix of both voices. I would love it if Cary sang solo for the verses and then they could sing together for the choruses with Michael singing harmony -- but Cary up front.
They have many songs where they do that! Also, if you’re interested, just look up her name only on RU-vid and you will see old solo videos of her. My favorite’s are the library session she does from the early 2000’s, where she sings her own songs, and also her video singing a cover of “dreaming of you” by Waylon Jennings ❤️
Great question John! Honestly I have since moved on from this set up to an Atomos Sumo Monitor and a Teradek, mostly due to the nature of my work requiring a better set up to light from. However I do still use the wireless hdmi set up some, however I have noticed that it is very sensitive to the type of USB cables you use and power changes from external batteries. All in all I still thing this is a viable low cost solution for someone starting out. Thanks!
This randomly showed up on my suggestions. I'm glad it did because I'm a relatively new video freelancer going through a bit of a dry spell. It's tough but your video reminded me of the stories that I had the privilege of shooting a little over a year ago. I hope you continue with the vlogging. I think there is a lot that I would like to learn from you.
Hello! Thanks for great review! I didn't get how do you power monitor on nature? wia usb ???? Is voltage of this powerbank enouth to power such a big monitor? Why don't you use a V-mount batteries)
I power the monitor from a few different battery sources depending on the shoot. I use vmount batteries for my camera rig but this consumer monitor does not have a vmount plate on it.
I think the Nyrius should work for that. I would test it as soon as you can of course. The only issue would be if there is some interference in the space and if you didn't have good line of sight. Best of luck!
I have not used with A7SII but I do know that the Nirius is only 1080. I would assume there is a way on the Sony to turn on down convert for the HDMI out. It works great with the GH5s when I turn on down convert to auto. I have also used with the Red Epic HDMI out.
On the camera side you simply plug in the HDMI transmitter to your hdmi output. You also will need to power it via USB. I use a V-Mount battery with a USB port on it to power my entire setup typically.
HML367 what are you talking about?? Did you watch the video? Then you watched him put together a homemade wireless HDMI monitoring system for the client to watch while they are filming. It’s pretty self explanatory.
