fallow the law? maybe he should study the law before telling someone to fallow the law. what law says service dogs cant be in taxis. i took my sd in yellow cab,red cab,blue bird and checker cab when she was still a pet. when i asked blue bird and yellow cab if they would accept my pets they laughed and said yes and had the why wouldnt we attitude.
He might be Muslim...I have seen and heard about Muslim taxi drivers and shop keepers refusing service dogs. I looked into it and found that for some reason the Muslim religion do not permit dogs. It has happened in America, United Kingdom, and in Canada. There are several videos on youtube but I have never heard of anyone getting charged over the Disability Act.
He is a muslim, a somali and my relative. Even though he can assist them and clean up his car later, it is wrong to disrespect his faith, that is the most important thing. Forcing him to allow a dog in his car is ridiculing him and his faith. I too don't allow dogs searching in my car at security check points. It is better to assist service men and animals in such a scenario but no law can force him to stop practising his faith.
If his religion bans him from contact with animals he shouldn't be working as a cabbie, because he wouldn't know what his next fare was going to be, it might be someone with a guide dog or a sick animal needing transport to a vet. You wouldn't find an animal rights campaigner working in an abbatoir would you?

Secondly, my faith encourages me to respect the laws of the land but it depends on what kind of laws. For instance, if you visited a place where murders are mandatory, yet your faith prohibits such acts but still it encourages you to respect the laws of the lands... Would you murders to show respect to such policy. Dogs are not discouraged in my faith but they are PROHIBITED! You honestly need to understand and accept that the differences between our faiths are big, therefore, it is best that we respect each others' faith and live in harmony. Otherwise, you can opt to disrespect others and keep spreading hatred, either way, we have nothing to lose.

It is just to let you understand that respecting the law of the land has limits. Your country's laws can't replace my faith's policies. Respecting the law of the land comes in a case where Islam doesn't compel me to do sth or not to do sth. For instance, such cases include: polygamous marriage, early marriage and FGM. Things that are prohibited are prohibited, it doesn't matter where you are or what worldly policies you are to adhere. It is also quite funny how you expect one to neglect his faith and dance to your tunes. My faith isn't fake and flexible like yours. Furthermore, these people are in your countries and they don't have to beg for that! You bombed their homes, where did you expect them to go? The cabbie was in the wrong here. He discriminated against these men because of their dog. That is unlawful and they ought to sue him and the cab company.

At night they can have nightmares about the events they experience in whatever their traumatic event might have been, they might try to stay aware from the said area (ie a victim of a car crash, might be afraid of cars).
PrincessofEllabur one ptsd guy said he used to hit his wife in his sleep before he got his dog cause he really thought she was the enemy. He had a ptsd attack in the middle of the interview and his dog kept him from hurting the reporter,too bad he didnt have an attack while talking to cabby so cabby could feel what a ptsd attack feels like. i heard sometimes stress triggers it.

If this was an Aussie refusing a Muslim, a disabled person or a black person a cab ride it would be on 6 O'Clock News. Contact the news and lets see who wants to report it. 60 Minutes this bastard! It is against the law to refuse a guide dog or person with a disability transport access (amongst others) I back you all the way if you need help.

this problem needs to be adressed, the fact that due to the ignorance of these cabbies and security guards etc, is just causing more greif to the owner, he didnt even want to look at the card issued by young diggers which states under the disability discrimination act 1992 and in accordance with all Australian state and territory requirements

The Assistance Animal Pass has been developed to help people with an ongoing disability (including issues relating to ageing and psychiatric illness) who are unable to use public transport without an assistance animal. If they do not do anything take it to the Police or Lawyer. Since you Clearly had you ID and Service dog with you.
