I'm a big fan. Met her at a convention years ago & told her how much I liked her music. She gave me a withering look & dismissed me. She was a nasty bitch. At least, looking at her today, karma caught up with her.
Country music was HORRIBLE to her but she had the last laugh with a pop career. They did the same thing to Chely Wright and Mark Herndon. Screw the country music genre of cousin screwing hypocrits.
All you kd fans...once upon a time this lady interviewed Liza Minnelli for "Interview" Mag...I dont remember the date of the issue, sometime in the 90s...if you can find it, two legends having a great time with each other. I do remember Liza was on the cover.
I love k.d. lang. What a beautiful voice. She deserves a standing ovation and the award. She is so humble. She should have gotten many more awards. We don't heard voices like hers anymore. Congratulations from the United States.
K.D. is one of the most talented singers to come out of her genre, it broke my heart the way the industry turned on her because of her identity... so glad she's finally getting her well-deserved flowers before it's too late... just love her and her courage
I used to live in Edmonton and I was a cook at a restaurant called the sidetrack Café. K D Lang performed their all the time and she wasn’t really well known yet. I remember leaving work one night and she was performing and she was stomping around the stage and I honestly thought she was such a weirdo lol then she came out with her shadowland album and I was totally blown away. It was such an incredible change of direction and such an incredible album.
