The DCL Racing Series is an innovative series of racing events headlined by the Drone Champions League, the world championship for professional drone racing teams. Since 2016, DCL has drawn the world’s best drone pilots, who qualify in DCL - The Game and then go on to compete in international teams in spectacular virtual and real-life settings. An annual draft selection opens the door to any DCL - The Game player to be recruited into a pro team. In parallel with the DCL World Championship, the DCL Women’s Cup was introduced in 2021 till 22 to encourage wider participation in the sport.
SIM eSports... This should be in the title and description... This isn't drone racing...it is video game playing. This is disappointing that an exciting and innovative sport in real life has been co-opted by eSports. Booo!
There have been plenty of attempts at an IRL Drone Racing league, but have all failed do to lack of interest. The DCL is the best drone league we have, and its sim isnt bad either. It feels like a real drone.
Man's dangerous chase stunt involving tame bear takes internet by storm. Source file resolution 720p Filmed on Wednesday 5th January 2022 Moskva, Moskva, Russia A drone pilot's video of a bear appearing to chase a man through a snowy forest in Moscow has taken the internet by storm. Captured by @smirnov_fpv, the footage shows the beast running behind a man as the drone whizzes past. The pilot, Dima Smirnov, reveals the video is staged as they paid an actor who agreed to run away from the bear. Although the bear was a tamed one, the animal's owner could not guarantee the safety of the actor due to the bear's unpredictable nature. Smirnov said: "We decided to make a video that I, as the author, dreamt about. I found a trained bear and found an actor who would agree to run away from the bear. "It was risky because the bear's owner did not guarantee the safety of the actor and we did not know how the bear would behave when it saw the drone, but everything went well and everyone was safe and sound." A couple of articles have been posted about the video, whether the bear was a creation of CGI or not. Smirnov later provided evidence that the bear was in fact real and was a trained one named Tom.
