That's awesome and great work! But where's the downstairs bathroom? Surely you don't have to run upstairs.

That funky stair Landing is all I need to see to know that this was done without a building permit. Some people would argue you don't need the government to tell you how to do a good job. However skipping that step makes me wonder what else you skipped or simply didn't know what to do. You're entitled to make your basement and live in it too I just feel bad for the next family who buys the home and gets stuck with some really big surprises.

Men.. My totally respect to you. In my eyes you are a hero to your family. Your kids, your wife, all relatives should be proud of you, most important you should be so proud of your self. I’m planning to do that in my house, but of course I have to pay somebody else to do it. Just thank you for documentary the hole project. Smart, tenacity and compromise all on you, congratulation. Many year to enjoy. Thanks 🙏

Love folks willing to do the work to get what they want and a being a good dad by having your little boy help by filling a buckets a well. Parenting is just a series of giving your child jobs that grow with them. Thanks for the video!

Please do not take away that much dirt in one go..... do like 1 meter per time, skip 2 meter, and next meter. Then underpin and dig out the rest. You are taking HUGE risk here

Great work. It looks fantastic. Just curious as to why you didn’t dig down further for a taller ceiling? Ours is finished but has a low ceiling. Always wondered why whomever did the work didn’t dig it down a bit?

Amazing work! One comment though, couldn’t help noticing, why so many wall outlets? Looks like they’re about 1 foot from one another in some places.

Wow looks great, I'm just seeing this for the first time. If there'd be any way you could extend your conveyor a couple feet longer, that way you would not have to shovel the dirt so high. Awesome job!

OUTSTANDING!~ We drove from Stamford, CT to San Diego in 1977. As we ripped West thru Rt. 80, I can NEVER forget my joy to see this BIG SKY! Thank you for bringing it back! :) XO

It looks like you built a stud wall, lined it with boards and poured the concrete. Then took it down and reused it. Did you hand pour the concrete or have it delivered? If you didn't jack the house up how did you pour the last bit of concrete for the plate? BTW one hell of a job! 👍

Just so I'm clear, your house didn't originally have a basement, not even a partial or a crawlspace? You did everything from scratch? You even added the staircase too? This is an amazing job!! About how many square feet is the basement? If you don't mind me asking, about how much did all of the work cost?

You worked much harder than you needed to. Just fill the buckets and carry them to the conveyor, dump, done. Used to fill a 14 yard bin a day with my buddy easily. Also, that’s not topsoil your spreading around the field there, most likely it’s contaminated too. 👌👍

Where did you get the computer chair?
@StewartRedmond

It's a replica of an Eames lounge chair, I bought it from a classifieds listing. It was missing the base so I welded a bracket and attached it to a standard wheel base.
