With all the film score reissue labels (Intrada, La-La Land, Kritzerland, etc.) I was really hoping this would eventualy get a deluxe first-time-on-CD reissue but it doesn't look promising. At least not in my lifetime. And after my generation is gone it's probably even unlikelier. Guess I'll have to settle for that old Casablanca LP ... complete with Pacino poster (although I always thought it should have included Marthe Keller as well).
He wasted his life, he could have went the Doctor route and horded, he could also have taken other jobs and developed other interests instead of becoming a vagrant. To my mind he was mentally ill and imagined the wood imp.
OMG I love it!! I have the movie, but wish I had this song. As a young boy this was my favorite movie, and I cherish the songs. Robby was a great singer. RUSH HOUR!
This is music from the 1977 Al Pacino Movie BOBBY DEERFIELD. The soundtrack, which is a collection of music used in the movie. Composed by Dave Grusin. The first piece of music you hear is the Main Theme / Main Title music for BOBBY DEERFIELD that plays at the start of the movie.
I’ve seen this film just recently, and I was swooned over Al Pacino for his delicate beauty.. Another precious film of him in early days. Thank you for uploading this sound track!
Shame more of this score wasn't released. I realize there's only about 10-15 minutes of music in the entire film, and about half of that repeats, but it would be been wonderful to hear a short suite of this as part of a compilation album of Horner's.
My god! I remember "The Griebble". I watched it as a kid. A character from her son's favourite book which she throws out in the trash magically comes to life.
As a child, when I was left alone at home, I was a little afraid of some unknown entity that might appear. And Greibble was like this entity. It was very disturbing to watch him and try to figure out what to expect from him. I remember how I used to worry when she tried to get rid of him with a watch, now this moment certainly looks funny.
I have to admit I airplay just like you do to most of Dave Grusin's music (although I don't record it and put it up on youtube; thumbs up for your bravery :-). In my book he's mos def number one in his class (with Bob James running a hairline close second...).
