What about having the adult take a vacation, alone? Or having a useless adult? I had 4 kids and a vampire run a farm. The vampire stayed in the box during the day.
The Sims is the only game where you can have only a Child Sim in the family since the game didn't prevent players from not including Adult Sims in a family and unlike later games, The Sims doesn't end the game if all Adult Sims die and only children are left. Note that The Sims' *Get a Life* in PS2/Xbox/GameCube and The Sims Bustin' Out's *Bust Out* modes will end the game if the main player Sim dies, but you can still do this in Play The Sims/Freeplay mode. Also in The Sims, marrying (opposite gender)/moving in (same gender) the only adult Sim of another family will cause the children to be transferred over if they can fit within in the 8/4 Sim limit. Starting with The Sims 2, an Adult Sim must be created and losing all "adult" Sims (Teens, Adults, and Elders) while there's a child in the family/household will trigger a game over message. I believe this change was to prevent an "unwinnable" situation especially since Children can't pay bills. I do believe in The Sims 2 (not sure if it works in The Sims Stories) through using "testingcheatsenabled", it could be done if you use an object to "remove" an adult from another family to add to your family thus bypassing the requirements and the Social Worker due to not having any adults. The Sims 3 also has an option to add Sims to household through "testingcheatsenabled" though removing all adults from another household to play with only children doesn't work as I remember trying it before and the game knows I don't have any adults. The Sims actually has different behavior with how it handles losing all Sims. In the original PC version, losing all Sims (i.e., through dying or Military School) as shown in 5:22 will cause the game to continue running while the console version will switch you to Free Build Mode or trigger a game over depending on mode. Later games will show a game over message if all Sims die or have the message about the social worker due to losing all teens, adults, and elders. In The Sims 3 University Life, Roommates including students in Dorms, Frats, and Sororities *aren't* counted as Sims in the Household despite technically being in the Household, and they're also not counted as "adults" for the purposes of children and pets if all teens, young adults, adults, and elders are dead. Yeah, The Sims uses money every time you eat/cook something. The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories changed it to requiring resources to cook which could be replenished through groceries. The Urbz, The Sims 2 Console, and The Sims 2 Pets reverted back to The Sims' mechanics of requiring money. The Sims 3 and two of the PS3/Xbox 360 ports used ingredients to cook like The Sims 2/Stories or money to cook (except Ambrosia and Baked Angel Food Cake) otherwise if you don't have the ingredients. The Sims Medieval's cooking is similar to The Sims 3 except recipes require ingredients to cook. The Sims 4 somewhat returned to the first game of using money to cook.
@nc5193 where was I not chill? 😑 yeah, it's pixels depicting a white sim with a black hairstyle. Which is weird, and it's a choice that didn't have to be made.
I think some of my rags to riches have been fairly difficult with the restrictions I put on myself. Lot traits: off the grid, simple living, reuse and recycle, as well as spooky. Not being able to utilize the phone until I pay off a fee of 400. Since painting and dumpster diving can be very easy to earn income - restricting them to sales tables only. The same goes for the gem table, woodworking, etc. all of it has to be sold on the city living sales tables. I put no restrctions on fishing since most items such as the fish and the ring from ciudad enamorada cannot be sold on the table. Exploiting club mechanics come with a few hoops. I have to have max friendship with the sims added to the club before I add them, I also restrict my sim to having max level of the skill (eg. painting) and max level charisma to convince these sims to "work for free" in this club. I also attach a club creation fee of 5k for a fake license. Any furniture I get from dumpster diving can't be sold in build/buy and I force my sims to work their way up to buy a store to sell said furniture items or have my spellcasters commit insurance fraud. As it goes without saying, having a traditional job wouldn't make sense for a rags to riches - My sims have to actually build the skills needed for them to join a career. If my sim wanted to join the medical career, I'd force them to build up skills I think are needed for that field such as the logic skill. I think vampire sims have been the most difficult to keep alive because they burn in the day since you literally have no walls in the lot to start lol. No money, no walls, so they're gonna burn if they don't figure something out real quick 😂
In Sims 1 there are hacked objects made by C+C that are child enabled so kids can feed themselves. There are other hacked objects/mods for kids to get fun increase while studying for school with a book to keep grades up. There's also paintings that allow kids to act like a grown up (pay bills, get skills, not have the bus come) ... for an in game fee of 1000 simoleons. It also lets adults act like kids to use children only things (like playground equipment). In my own game have done this age kid up before bus comes, get skills, make money or sleep during school hours. At 301pm age back down study for school until get grade A+. The C+C kitchen stuff is needed for kid to make meals. Lots of ways to make money at home in game. Artwork from catalog appreciates in price over time especially if viewed frequently. Buy an expensive one and it resells a few days later for a lot more than initial cost. Most catalog items depreciate but there are a few that do also sell for more after midnight. I enjoyed this comparison - for once Sims 1 won, technically, lol. ~FM :)
You can have a child generate money in Sims1 and make them self sufficient. You can repeatedly sit on Champignon Toadstool Chair which has a chance to create Toadstools or make them play with Visions of Sugarplums to create Faerie Dust and sell those magic ingredients while they are on the ground. And you can use those ingredients to create a Makes Cakes charm so they can create their own food. The only problem is paying the bills which you can either mod to let kids do it too or delete the bill with cheats.
Don't know if this was a random glitch on my end but back in the day whenever I had kids living alone in Sims 1 random adults from the neighborhood would just appear in my house every day no matter how many times I cheat deleted them or asked them to leave.
Im pretty sure that in sims 4 you can just remove the adult from the family (with a cheat) , instead of killing them. And it should work as if nothing happened!
You should definitely try the Gameplay Overhaul mod, it halves your job income and doubles your bills, among a bunch of other stuff to make the game harder
loved this video! i think a way u could at least trick TS4 is by moving the adult to another household and seeing if they let u play in the household w only the kid. i'm reminded of Manage Households and seeing random ones where there's only a kid and maybe a dog lol
In the sims 2, if you call a nanny before killing the adults, the social workers won't come for the children. And the nanny or nannies will actually not leave the lot either (even if their needs are super low). I've done challenges before where I called like 2 nannies, and left them in charge of 3 toddlers. It's a lot of fun! Also I think the sims 3 would be the game where kids would make the most money as they can write novels and you can really farm the money with it. It's very profitable. I had a child sim make 60k per week before!
In the Sims 3 and 4, I’ve done child only challenges a few times. Others have already told you how to do it in the Sims 3, but in Sims 4 there’s a workaround without even cheating Make the adult a vampire, buy them a coffin (I put it underground lol), then select the option to make them “Hibernate”. They’ll go to sleep, their needs will be frozen, and they’ll never wake up on their own :)
Actually you don't need any mod, you can play just with a child, just turn up the cheats, and shift click the adult sim, and select "remove from family", and for the money, if you have eco lifestyle you can find money and furnitures on the trash, or, if you have the ability of inteligence at leven 7 you can harvest, and sell the fruits and flowers (srry for my bad english)
"I did this once in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. In The Sims 2, what you have to do is create the family, move them into a house, select a different family, and add the adult to that second family using the Tombstone of Life and Death. Once that's done, just save and go back to the family that now only has a child, and you're good to go. In The Sims 3, it's easier. You just need to create a Sim, move them in, and select a different family, then add the adult to this other household. If you do that, the social worker won't come.
In the Sims three, you could make an adult then edit create a Sim with testing cheats true in age of them down to a kid so then the game technically thinks they’re still an adult, but there’s actually no adult
I would make a basement with all the basic requirements, move the adult down there, and seal them up forever. They can take care of themselves and you can pretend they are not there and just play as the kid
Technically, children are not considered "alone" if there is a teenager with them... and there is a family in the bin that has a pair of teenagers rising their little siblings. U know, just giving you an idea.
Well, editing is really high quality to my taste. Good job! Enjoyed the video. Next time, try this challenge with Bon Voyage disabled (so you can't dig for money) in the Sims 2 :P
@@SIMclopedia nope theres a bug, the social worker never comes, and the kid can live alone, i tried and it works, use the same testingcheatsenabled true and delete the adult
