Sam after changing his friend’s life for the better deep down had to know that there’s endless amounts of ppl that can use his help…Forever righting what once went wrong
Even with time travel,people don't live forever.find sam and bring him home before he dies and really is lost forever.he should be able to see his daughter while theres still time to know her.
I STILL well up with tears when watching this episode. I know people don’t like the ending… Sam never getting home… but to me, it’s a perfect end to the character. He either died mid-leap, thus selflessly helping others, or he gave his life by changing Al’s history knowing it would cause a paradox and erase himself from existence. It’s one of the things I really liked about the new series. They didn’t try to retcon it and have Ben and co “save” Sam
Watching this in 2024 after the season 2 finale of the new Quantum leap, which is definitely just gotten better over time, and how this moment was called back in a huge way in that finale. Excellent way to tie the two together.
Stawpah was a guardian angel. This fits in exactly with an earlier episode where we met another guardian angel- Angelita. She specifically told Sam when her work was done, she would forget about her. And he did. This time, he remembers Stawpah but no one else does. I believe this is because Sam is dead, and now he too has become a guardian angel. He choses to go on putting things right that once went wrong forever. Its sad he may be dead, a bittersweet ending, but sort of a positive if you think about it. And exactly what a person like Dr Sam Beckett would do- keep helping others.
One theory i thought might be a possibility is maybe the bartender was a first contact of sorts with an extra dimensional being. Like interstellars teseract, the bar and inhabitants was a means of communication. Sam is a human that ascended beyond the 3 dimensional confinements of a human host body and became fluctuating quantum being. The bartender who has apparently been observing Sam, felt it necessary to inform him that he has the ability to control his leaps and always has. Which Sam immediately masters upon learning this and rights Al's past.
For the person who put up these videos I thank you I grew up on Quantum Leap. I really appreciate what you put into this video set up. This scene especially kind of a trip because I was literately for about seven months when he made into that body of the Attorney . I was born in February 1979 and my cousin Chris was born in August 1978, so it’s kind of a trip but it was that close.
Some shows by the time they get to the later season, get kind of low brow and jump the shark. Not this one lot of these later episodes were just awesome.

Who down votes this video? I was a kid when I saw this episode because my mom liked the show and even at 8 years old I understood the gravity of what was happening because of how well acted, directed, produced and edited the show was.
After years of watching Bruce McGill on MacGyver as Jack and Dalton, it was so refreshing to see him in this amazing performance here. Biggest reason I rewatch this episode so many times.
So, basically on of his missions is yo leap Al back home? Its a bit confusing for me as time travel always has been 😂 Im sorry this does not give a happy ending for Sam, but it does for Al. Looks like Sam's job is to not go home but continue helping others
@@charlesjunior5087 if Sam doesn’t admit he is subconsciously controlling his leaps, he will leap around in time till the day he dies or maybe even longer if Stoppa was a Leaper too.
I think Abigail’s mother was guiding Sam’s leaps in this trilogy. She did seem to have some astral projection ability. Maybe she had other psychic abilities.
