$26 dollar EBay clock spring and my 07 Prius steering wheel controls work great and no airbag code. Yay! Great directions except my Prius had an extra plug socket that had to be moved from the old clock spring to the new one. Thought I was gonna have to buy one from O-Reilly's at $270 plus tax ouch! Generally if the part has electronics or motors I use the genuine Toy dealer part..
you forgot to mark the wheel alignment to the spindle. 3:38 into the video.. or you could reassemble with the wheel not straight. sharpie is your friend.
@@maus9565 Hi! I would recommend you search fuse location and diagrams VW Tiguan 2017-2020. Once you find the diagram it will be very easy to find a fuse with 12v constant and Ignition. Hope that helps!
Right side buttons and the Cruise Control didn’t work on my 2008 Prius Touring. This video and a $50 clockspring-Fixed everything. This was one of the better video tutorials for this repair-Thanks!
Great directions! Very clear, concise and easy to follow! Your video was very helpful to change out the clock spring on the Prius I just purchased. Thank you!
Hi! I guess it depends, in my case I like to keep the factory features working and I kinda hate when something doesn’t work so in my case it does. Thank you for the feedback!
yeah possibly, at the time I do remember there was another model with bluetooth but I don't think there was a unit that would keep the steering wheel buttons. Which units would you have use in stead?
Two questions. The options on the dashboard menu "Set Time and Set Date" appears? Can yo changue directly with the buttons and set the time? and, The odometer is flashing???
From various forums, it appears that the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel are the ones most often affected by a defective clockspring. That’s what mine was too.
Do you have pics of the paddles you used for the air vents? Also any issues in retaining the steering wheel controls? I eventually want to install a head unit with two sets of components for front and rear with an electronic crossover and a 5 channel amp
The Steering Wheel Nut turned out to be a 19mm and the two side screws were a T30 bit. The oem clock spring had part of the orange plastic lock ring snapped off at the perforation line then left inside so I did the same thing with the new one. Probably to prevent dust getting in it was so dirty in there.
