Yes I didn’t even think about that when I did this video but I never used it again. It was more in front of the light not under but yes I was very stupid and didn’t think, I’m just very fortunate nothing serious happened.
I’m sorry your lost. I cut the lines out on vinyl and glitter the vinyl and seal the glitter then add the strips onto a glittered tumbler. Does that help at all?
Yes however it dries a lot faster then epoxy, so you don’t have a whole lot of time for it too self level. I recommend using more thin coats but a lot of them compared to a thicker epoxy coat.
Loved the video!! Can you tell me how long you let your spray paint dry between applying and removing tape? I have let mine sit overnight at times and when I remove the painters tape it still ruins/removes some color?? Thoughts?
Oh wow I wonder if it’s the spray paint itself. Have you tried different brands or finishes? I remove my tape as soon as it’s just. Sometimes only after a few hours.
I like to do a mix of both because the fine glitter floats slower then chunky glitter. So you get a cascade look. But try out a few different styles and see which you like best!
Hello. Ok no you can’t. Sublimation is it’s own thing and you have a sublimation printer with sub ink and paper plus you will need a sublimation blank which they do have pens plus tumblers ect. Then bake the blank with the sub paper taped to it But I print all my printable vinyl with my laser printer, you do still need to seal it once it’s on the pen because it will come off eventually If you don’t seal it under resin or crystalac.

The crystalac? Maybe a tiny bit but no not really, neither could be left in a car in summer. You would need powder coated, or sublimation tumblers for that
I have seen many crackle tumblers. Some use Elmer's Glue & then some use a crackle medium. You used Elmer's Glue, correct? Can Crystalac users not use the Crackle Medium?
Yes I used Elmer’s glue. I’m pretty sure you could use crackle medium and crystalac, I just don’t have that in my shop and I try to use what I have instead of purchasing something new. If you use the crackle medium please let me know if it works for you!

To be honest it’s just a personal preference. I really like how they write so that’s what I had on hand when I first started. But I know there are tons of different types out there, as long as you can take them apart, I think that would be fine.
Hi. I didn’t use really any pattern I just cut out thin stripes in the glittery vinyl and just starting wrapping them around the pen. You could definitely create a pattern, cut some stripes thinner then others and go back and forth between the thicker and thinner or even every third be a thinner stripe. 😁
So you did a total of THREE epoxy coats by the time you were finished??? I have a 20 oz straight tumbler so I wouldnt need tapered stripes, right??? Love your tutorial!!!
So my tumbler is straight as well, the taper still looks best because it tricks your eye. I do have them already tapered on my Etsy shop to purchase if you didn’t want to create them yourself. I do as many coats needed until it’s glass smooth. It kind of depends on how thin or thick your coats are on how many you will need. etsy.me/3Tw7mtK
And you are leaving them in for a few different full turns? If they are still tacky after 5-6 mins under the uv light. It might be your uv resin, maybe try a different brand and see if it helps

Hi. So most fast set epoxy has a higher chance of becoming yellowish over white especially if it is in the sun for longer periods of time. So I just always error on the side of caution.

I watched your video again from last year. How do you taper at the bottom? I could see that you had something open in Silhouette, but couldn't see it well. If you taper at the bottom, the top goes along with it... Totally confused with all the stripes.
Hi so when you grab the bottom corner you can drag it in a little, don’t grab the side of the strip because then it will make the whole strip thinner. Are you using compressed air to blow dry your dip right after you pull it out of the water? I get bubbles sometimes too but once I add the air they pop or move to a spot to pop.

Your talking about the bottom in the freezer, correct? Once you pull it out of the freezer, tap it on a counter or maybe a little harder if need be, it will pop out
I do not but I’m using a laser printer. I know you have to seal waterslides if you are using a inkjet, so I would guess you might need to seal printed vinyl as well. You could always try and see. Sorry if I’m not more help

Welcome to the pen life! Haha the size of the wraps kind of depends on if you are doing a printed vinyl over a blank pen or a waterslide over glitter, also what brand of pens your using (I use paper mate InkJoy pens). I would start at 1.45 inches wide by 4.85 inches long. You might need to trim off the extra with a sharp craft knife and once you get a feel for how thick or thin you are doing your epoxy/Brite Tone, you can change the measurements of your wrap to fit your pens better.
