Animations are stiff, combat system looks terrible, AI is dumb and dialogue is cringe. Like Goodbye Volcano High levels of cringe. For who this game is made?
it's from some of the creators that made the longest journey saga, but not the same publisher. And alot of the team members that made these games aren't present anymore. And yes it's a bit cringy, It's so over the top that it gets a certain appeal, like come on .. An ability to literally "trigger" the enemy is just satirical, and even if you could think it's done on purpose, like a game made by the Babylon bee, to criticize identity politics in a goofy way. Even if it's maybe not the intention. But a game from this creator always has 2 sides to it. A layer that looks at the world throught a dystopian lens and then some elements that criticize it. You had that with dreamfall as well. Like who calls their foodstall "Karl" (named after karl marx" I kinda like it in a backwards way.
@@CosmicD i agree that it could appeal as being just so bad that it is kind of good. Designs here and visual direction is pretty good, but unfortunately it doesn't have the same effect on me as it does on you. I don't think that this societal critique can really be called critique in this case since it is, well, a little too infantile... And it is not funny at all. (It is not bad enough to be funny, but bad enough to be annoying.) Thanks for giving your opinion on the game.
@@medimedes I must say I'm coming into this a bit biased because I'm a fan of the creator, because he's always doing this thing in the story that is multilayered. The first is the "in your face" drama or what tha world is". you could say that's political. But the second layer is a metaphorical element, a deeper motivation that is behind these characters, which is already there right from the beginning, but you don't quite know where it ends. It was like that in the longest journey as well. Though I'm not particularly invested in these characters (from dustborn) I'd like to at least experience the story. And I hope after this detour he returns to TLJ again to finish the journey home :)
i think i just made a TTS voice say something silly: "the need for speed SE is a very good game" ,(or something like that), the project is on the upstairs pc..I would have to check :)
I think that's like a variation on the hoover sound with organ riffs in between. But in my mind, that doesn't particularly sound very iconic... But that's my personal appreciation, of course.
@@CosmicD There have been some heavier early 90s rave choons with a similar synth used as afterbeat (I don't know the right term for it) to create that famous rolling rave stage.
A note or two are off on the main synth but awesome work still! Vocal-less Hyper Hyper would have been awesome! EDIT: Can't stop listening to the beginning of the track! :)
if anything, I think I don't modulate the TB303 cutoff enough in hindsight. But yeah, just because there's no other version in existence than the one with live audience , it creates this "mandela" effect.. of how you remember this track and how you hear it here, and then somehow there's something missing. Because that live element is integral to the track itself. It would be interesting to hear life is live without the audience as well for that reason :)
@@CosmicD Yeah, I get that. It's funny as I look back at my electronic journey... From Scotter, through Prodigy, Kai Tracid to the Brooklyn Bounce boing sound and many more. It has always been the TB303!
I was explicitely looking for an instrumental version. I don't like that Baxter-Gequatsche over the track. Damn you nailed it quite hard! Please don't be angry while I post the following link. I was looking for a "Hyper Hyper" Instrumental. Both tracks are going hand by hand. (BTW: He did the same awesome job with whatever he used to recreate it.) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9SRy0srD7Lg.html Thank you both. Hard props!!!
