If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the mycelium and where did you put it? is it in a bucket under the tray? Thanks for making the video, I found it on the mushroom wikipedia page!
Hi 😊 I got the mycelium in a bucket as a starter-kit in my local supermarket. The mycelium is in a bucket with holes both in the lid (what you see in the clip) and on the sides. The holes are closed with tape. The growth medium is simply used ground coffee. So the bucket was filled over time, as I made coffee 😊
Man, I just dug this box out of my mums shed....must’ve been in there 15+ years, along with 1210 decks etc etc...you’ve inspired me to fire it up. Side note - my folks shed got broken into a few times and the crooks only took shitty tools and a lawnmower 😂 Peace & beats from U.K.
I just mines from Canada work on a track with it now. Idk how you guys get so much serious sounds out of it mines sound so cheesy lol I hook guitar pedals to mines to compensate smh
Yeah, it is so easy to get it to sound cheesy :P I don't use most sound "as is", but tweak them with the filter, LFO modulation and reverb/chorus. Often I am starting out from a sound that is simple, but rich. Like a "super saw" or something like that. I hope you get some good fun out of it! ;)
hey is the synth sound from the 303? I'm considering getting this or 303tb? or both? do i only need only one? i use ableton + Push, but i want to add analog to my DJ Sets, im looking for something that i can program on the fly for bass synth and drum? help! btw the song in the demo is SICK! Cheers jens!
Hi there :) The MC303 has both the drum and bass sound, so you could say that's all you need. But you don't get analog sounds, this box is pure digital. But you can find it rather cheap on eBay. Just be aware that it is a bit quirky to program, but sometimes that just gives you something interesting you didn't expect. You can use it with Ableton, but I normally just use it by it self.
Thoses unforgettables sounds of the bass-synth, the Clap and the last parts use with typical arpégiator......hummmm....I remember when I feel playing thérémin with quantizer & LFO units to makes arpégios tripping & bugin' ... Groovebox thanks you to keep it clean^^!
Like how you just let that baseline drive the whole track. A bit cheesy for me but that just shows how good a producer you are, sought of sounds early Tiesto. Guess you didn’t want it to end so abruptly but all good. Sweet track dude!
Thanks, man! :) Yeah, it's super cheezy! That's kind of on purpose... used to listen to a lot of Dimtri from Paris who makes a lot of this tacky house/lounge stuff, check him out :) It can be hard to improvise on the MC303, so yeah, sometimes an ending like that happens ;)
Man had to watch you mix this again. So good Jens. I got mine today, haven’t had one for 19 years. Love this track And you enveloping live and transposing. Totally sick dude!
'Enveloping live and Transposing' Is there another way of doing it as this is what I've been doing on hardware for over Thirty years. You'll never see me cut a Track with a computer screen or laptop.
Nice track Jens, quick question. Did you just record live then sync to video as the sound is awesome. If so did you go in through interphase, Probably a obvious answer. Just bought one and waiting for it. Had one all through the late 90’s until it disappeared One more thing. 4 sequences for that track?
Thanks :) I just recorded the sound on my small Zoom H2 handheld recorder and the video from my phone. I can sync the sound and video by the click from pressing the play button ;) Very simple! There are two synth pads, a bass and a melody as well as the drums :) Good luck with your 303, looking forward to see some tracks here on youtube! :)
Hi, man, can you explain how record music from mc 303 to computer ? i have midi-usb connecter, and i configure mc 303 as EXT device and configure midi settings. But, what i wish do at computer? how program use for record and... ?
I've tried this some times, but I was never happy with it. The MC303 does not use standard midi only, so you need to program a lot of Sysex messages. On older Cubase, you could get a MC303 mixer map, which made it much easier, but as far as I know, this does not work on the never Cubase versions. So I just use the MC303 by itself, and record the audio directly. No programming on the computer.
