Welcome to Untamed Outdoorsmen! Outdoor enthusiasts and fishing experts Conor, Peter, and friends share their journey with you across southern New England on what it’s like to have a life-long passion for the outdoors. We make mainly fishing and kayaking content, but we aren’t afraid to venture into other topics, whether it’s how-to videos, fishing trips, and product reviews, to our popular build series playlists on Conor’s Native Watercraft Titan X 12.5 or Pete’s Native Watercraft Titan Propel 12, we'll be sure to share them with you and show you how amazing the world can be outside your front door! Our goal is to provide fun, user-friendly, and informative content to give you the guidance and advice we wish we had when we started our fishing careers.
We are very strict on comments here. Hateful comments or accounts will not be tolerated under any circumstance, we have no place for that. Accounts that do not follow this rule will be removed and blocked.
VERY COOL brother, it's always nice to try something new, especially with family. I remember my first time with my brother-in-law. Giant bluefish was my first experience in Padanaram Harbor on pogie chunks. Next thing you know, I'm catching 20-30lb. plus Stripers in the Canal on live herring and night fishing for BIG Stripers in Westport. Topwater Bluefish in the spring is AWESOME as well, it can become VERY ADDICTING. Totally different fight than freshwater for sure. Give it a shot brother it really is AWESOME!!!
@@KayachtLife lol I’ve done plenty of salt back in like 2018-2020 before the channel really took off but stopped completely for fresh. Maybe we’ll get some more salt videos at some point.
Hey guys great video, just bought the Titan and cannot figure out the spring ruder, think Native is shut down with Hurricane. Any idea, dont want to strip the plastic cam trying to tighten.
@@DougLindeman-v6f yeah they are shut down right now. Are you having trouble with the drop down Allen head on the rudder? If so it’s more about finding a middle ground between quick release and easy pull up. Somewhere in the middle to the point where it’s snug but not tight is what worked for us but everybody’s is going to be just a little bit different. Going to have to play around with it for a little bit and find what works for you on the water
Good Ol' Leonard's Pond. Some of the BIGGEST bass I know of (not by me unfortunately) have come out of there back in the day. How's several 8lbers. topped by an 8lb. 12oz., 8lb.15oz. and two MA gold state pins (largest MA largemouth bass within the year caught) a 10lb. 1oz. and a 11lb. 4oz. BEHEMOTH caught through the ice in Feb. 1993. It's ridiculous how CHOKED up it has become which DEFINATELY alters presentations. Hit it early spring as soon as ice out when the vegetation is still dead is my best advice.
Short and sweet when you’re fishing on the lake and is most enjoyable and with friends! Thanks for sharing brother tight lines take care and God bless!
Love the champion series. If you fish a lot of chatterbaits I can't recommend the 736cb glass enough. Slap some 20lb flouro on that thing and it's a dream. I never lose a fish on that thing. It's on the Dobyns website for $199 if you click on the specials tab which is a steal.
This might be a shot in the dark but sometimes scupper valves (not plugs of course) can collect debris that prevent the valve from actually opening and letting the water drain out. They might need to be removed and cleaned. Hope this helps!
Love your videos but I would suggest taking a minute or so to show what baits you are throwing, maybe even link to tacklewarehouse to make some money off it
@@UntamedOutdoorsmen Call me old fashion but when I see Big Bass in the title, I'm thinking 4-5lbs. at the minimum. I don't mean to offend, REALLY, I do enjoy your content but maybe I have different interpretations of what's considered BIG. I have seen many big bass throughout my years and I'm sorry if I think differently but I speak for other anglers I know. No hard feelings, I hope.
I always get the error saying check sonar or sonar disconnected and it trows me out of the fish finder all connections are good no corotion or anything and it won't read past 100feet 30meters
Dude without a doubt every angler does that one more cast I have to catch that last fish! Awesome job guys remember a bad day of fishing is a lot better than a good day at work! Really appreciate your video content on the water keep bringing them it brings a smile on my face! Tight lines take care and God bless!
You guys make the best videos, and they are so helpful for people like me who are just getting back into fishing kayaks. I brought the Titan 12.5; your build videos are a great source of information. Thanks
As long as nothing is impeding it, an Amsoil EA15K51 filter looks like it would fit on there easily. It's slightly taller than the EA15K53, but the theads and gasket are an exact match.
Yeah, after using that filter, I kind of decided on such a small engine changing it out every 50 hours, the 15k mile interval on the amsoil filter isn’t worth the extra money for this engine. Not that I ever recommend ever going 15k between changes but to spend the 15 dollars and having it shipped is a lot more hassle then just going to Lowe’s and getting John Deere’s OE filter. That would work, but the “hood” of the mower would be a tight fit with any larger filter.
I installed this setup according to y’all’s video, I have it hooked up to the small 12v battery in front and the 24 v battery in the back to my nk180 pro motor. It shows error for port one going to the big battery, does this not support charging the 24v. I thought it big battery was a 24v
Also, I know guys that have done VERY WELL pitching jig and pigs in the small pond into the trees that have steep drop-offs. Excellent spring spinnerbait ponds, especially during the herring run. Big bait presentations when the herring are in there thick, that's what the larger bass are TUNED IN to.
NICE, good ol' Snippy/Black Pond, which us old timers call the small pond. There was a boat launch there, which you would purchase a parking permit from Decas Cranberry Co. Phenomenal memories fishing with my Dad in there in the 80's and 90's. We stuck SO MANY GIANTS out of there, especially Black Pond. Quite a few of our 7lbers came out of there. On my channel is a vintage vid of my friend with a 7lb. 7oz. pre-spawn BEAST out of there if you want to check it out. Awesome vid Conor, THANKS for posting!!! Really makes me reflect on how PHENOMENAL that fishery was and still is. Put some time into there and GUARANTEED you will CRACK one or two.
No you dont need that original nut or washer, you can either install this or motorguide comes with the proper nut for it. I checked this about once a month but the other one you dont need to check
Wonderful video guys its nice to just to get out on the water no tournament pressure and just a relaxing day of fishing with your best friend my kind of content. Tight lines guys take care and God bless.
Nice video…but I get a little peeved when I hear companies selling items that are wayyyyy over priced. Not the cover….the stickers! $13 for $1 worth of poor stickers? EVERY company should give you stickers/decals for FREE when you buy their products. It’s advertising for them yet YOU have to pay to advertise for them. Ridiculous.
UPDATE: So after a few months of using this setup we have decided to make a few changes. The first change was the blue plug. About two months ago the motor end of the blue plug started to melt. After further inspection, the wires worked themselves out creating resistance. So we do not recommend that blue plug. We replaced it with the battery tender plug (video in our build series) and that completely fixed our issues. We also decided to replace the wiring a little bit. We put the circuit breaker in the back with the battery. We used a 9in 8awg cable with tinned copper ring terminals on either end and hooked up the circuit breaker to that, which went to the connect ease with a straight shot of wiring going right to our new plug. It just eliminates the unnecessary need to cutting or splicing wiring. I didn’t like that when I had to remove the bow hatch the wiring had to come out with it and was strained. We had no issues with the circuit breaker placement itself because of its placement, if you prefer doing it that way, by all means go for it. It was a personal preference to change it. Check out our battery tender install video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p8xGnDJWaDA.html
Hey it’s great to see friends hanging out doing what they love together nothing like spending time together fishing and you guys were catching them! Thanks for sharing tight lines take care and God bless!
Actually the brackets for the Sidekick should be mounted more inboard for that 40" boat. The span is too great to get a minimum of 2" of pipe into it per instructional video from Native. I know it looks more rugged the way you did it but it is not correct per manufacturer instructions. And, we saw you mount the paddle holders only to later remove them when you installed the Sidekick. I know from experience they do not play well once the Sidekick is mounted. What was your final solution for those?
Very thorough review. I have had mostly DIY pvc carts that work great but also had the Malone Traverse cart for a while with my Old Town 120 PDL. Sold it with the kayak eventually. However, considering getting another PDL kayak soon and noticed this new(er) cart that popped up on the market. Getting these bigger kayaks to the waters edge is often the most exhaustive part of my trips.
Cool vid bro, ever try night fishing with topwater's and big spinnerbaits? Only mentioning because the bite seemed to start up at dusk. If you haven't it's one of the most EXCITING techniques. Nothing better than a monster bass crushing a topwater in the dark, HEARTPOUNDING STUFF!!! Also, lost a GIANT the other day as I was reaching for her 6-7lb. range, not the first time won't be the last. Video soon to come.
Haven't purchased another Garmin yet (Heck, I'm still paying off the Titan X and the NK300/battery setup! Lol), but was wondering if the New Garmin 94UHD with the GT56 transducer is worth the EXTRA Money...? Might just get another 93 unit and a 106 with FFS, and "Call it a Day"! Haha! Still have to get the "Captain's Bridge" to mount both Garmins, too! (I'll be using both 20 amp batteries separately for the Garmins, and hope it's enough!).
Very good video guys it’s great to see Bruce out in the water with you! It’s great to see that battle ready kayak out on the water going through its paces. You were catching fish having fun and that’s what it’s all about cause I really look forward to these! Thank you for sharing your day tight lines take care and God bless!
@@doughodson5939 it can work with any wire gauge because it all connects via ring terminals. As long as the ring terminals fit and it is under the 80amp capacity it’ll work
