Love the work as always, big fan of your videos! I have no luck turning these with my spur chuck on my wen lathe. What do you use on the headstock for these? I have the 60° live center tailstock but my spur always slips on these skinny little blanks. Any help would be much appreciated, keep up the great work friend!

I am Chris Greek, a 60 (almost) year old Grandma from the Canadian Arctic. I am an absolute noob to the craft of DP, but have been lurking around enough to know that you are a Master Turner❣️ Once I start into this craft and know that I enjoy it (although I’m pretty sure I will), I would be honoured to have you make a pen for me - and hopefully I catch it being turned on your channel❣️❣️
Great video and awesome work! What is it that you have in your drill chuck on the headstock to hold the epoxy blank in place? I'm currently using a 4 pointed spur and don't get the maximum length out of my blanks like you do!
It would be so much easier to 'hear and listen to your voice and the wheels' instead of the music. I find I can watch you create for HOURS!! I have never thought of the concept of having a capture ring on my DP pens. Richard.

You know why I think sea shells would not work...just a guess here, is that as you turn the blank with the shells in it, I think the shells would shatter. I have never seen a blank with sea shells in it. Perhaps that;s why? It could be plastic fake sea shells though, I think that would work. Just find a caster that would create one for you, and that have Lassen turn it for you. :-)
This is absolutely stunning!!! I have never worked with a captured ring pen but it's my hope to aquire one in 2023. I can sit and watch you turn these pens for hours...LOL. Happy New Year!
Absolutely beautiful! I really want to find someone near me to teach me how to do that. My uncle was a carver and wood turned but he passed away and I never thought to ask him to make me a hook handle.
