I got into a white oak about that size today up on top of a mountain. The wind picked up and pushed the tree back pinching my bar. I shoulda had a wedge in it,but didnt. Had to undo my powerhead from the bar. Luckily I had an extra saw to finish felling the tree. Having to recut in from a different location took away the control I'd of had laying it down,but it all worked out.

Been cutting grade and verneer in Ohio Indiana, Penn w. Va , VA, Illinois n.c. Tennessee for 40 years plus, had three cuts all on my left side ,about 60 , 70 staples and that's it, no booze , no dope no smoke , on the flat , swamp , and steep ground , have been blessed to work contract cutting with some of the best brokers and sawmills in the country , timber made me , good luck to you !
@jtrocktree5409 I hear you brother. I've been in the woods since I was able to walk I'm third generation logger I've had 2 uncles pass in this line of work. And I've been very lucky I have never been hurt or cut with a chainsaw Good luck and stay safe, man.
No, not most dangerous job, did this throughout my teens, doing industrial concrete high rise work far harder and more dangerous, and the pace is unrelenting
@Multilogger Thank you, sir. For the compliment, I've never had any problems out of the bellows on any of my huskies. I love the 395 but my shoulders can't take the weight anymore I use the 592 which is a very good saw

Solid, clean work. That's my challenge - boring around and making sure not to take out the holding or trigger wood as I pivot. The face cut had to be pretty shallow it seems because of the flat shape?
Thank you . Yes, my face cut was very shallow only about a inch wide or thick. and slightly angled towards the back of the tree. That way, if the tree twists in any way, it will not slab it.
