As someone who cares about our environment, Liquified Natural Gas is an extremely un-renewable energy source that releases masses of CO2 into our atmosphere, catalyzing the effects of global warming, leading to the destruction of ecosystems. This is a step in the wrong direction As a student of Geelong Grammar, it threatens my school's use of Corio Bay for water-based programs, such as Rowing and Sailing. As someone who is a resident on Corio Bay it poses as a catastrophic environmental threat to the beautiful environment we as the greater Corio community, are so fortunate to live by. The world is falling apart and we should do our best to mitigate the repercussions, not indulge plans that cause more harm.
The engine(VW 1.6 TDI 77kw) is louder and works rougher than with the Castrol edge 5w30 ! The engine with c Castrol edge 5w30 ll, Total ineo ll 5w30 and others is much quieter,!Please,why?

Stop price gouging you grubs oil is less than 50% the price it was at the start of the year and the retail price is 90cents. The oil is at an 18 year low and you grubs drop the price by a measly 10%. Vultures feeding on the carcass of Australia. Shame on you.
Australia is hot as hell, don’t you guys need at least 5w40? As far as I know, 5w30 is only for places with ambient temperature around max 30 degrees celcius
Hi Adhi Thank you for your feedback. The correct viscosity of engine oil will be specified in your handbook by the OEM. This will usually depend on flow characteristics required for correct flow through the engine (and turbocharger). Good quality 5W-30 oils are blended with synthetic base fluids, with high viscosity index and good resistance to thinning. In Australia we do not experience extremes of temperature, and 5W-30 is a suitable viscosity.
Unless you've got a lousy thermostat, you'll find that regardless of ambient conditions, internal engine temperature will remain constant. All the engine see's is the coolant temperature.
They're both fully synthetic, so it all comes down to what car you have. HX8 are more suited to newer and smaller cars and are better on emission control than the Ultra (Hence ECT). The Ultra on the other hand, is more suited to heavier vehicles with high-performance engines ( 2.0 or up).

Shell Helix HX8 is manufactured using d conventional method of creating Fully Synthetic oil while ultra is made from natural gas(pureplus technology) which makes the oil even purer n free of contaminants hence d higher price point. HX8 can be used in all engine sizes. As long as u use the recommended viscosity by yr vehicle manufacturer, you’ll be fine. HX8 is also certified by Mercedes Benz, MB229.3/MB229.5. Bottom line is both r great oils n offer similar protection. However, if u plan to use yr car in extreme condition like a race track, you’re better of with ultra.
