mate thats an awesome video , just what i needed to prep for my first track day later this month. what camera set up do you use by the way? I probably want to sort that out ...
Thanks for the vid , caravelle owner(T5) BNZ engine, did you say what type your was (engine label) and size? What happened to your old engine to need full replacement? Personally I would have liked a more detailed video of what was undone / when and a "tour" of the engine unit as a whole so we can see what is where on the engine (so difficult to identify when installed and unknowledgeable) but it's your video so you do you , as they say. Apparently the alloy heads do suffer from injector bore wear on VW engines from the hammering the injectors apply. A "metal bridge" is offered aftermarket to help support the injectors and restrict their movement. Rocker cover removal required plus a bit. Festa at t4forum also made some shims to spread the load too. I'm not an engineer to assess its effectiveness but you may wish to ask your mech friends to comment on it / check heads they see from time to time. Go well. ta
You overtake on the left if the track is clockwise. If the track is anti clockwise you overtake on the right 👍💪 top video though loads of great tips if you've never been to the track.
Great video. that bike is a bargain for a grand that's the way to do it tho is buying a cheap track bike works out cheaper in the long run rather than paying to hire a bike
Hello Mate. I was thinking to do a track day at Oulton Park as well but I have never done it before plus my car is a very slow Suzuki. Do you think I should go for the 20 min taster session rather than the full day? Nice video btw very informative!
hi David appreciate the comment, so this is all at the owners risk, you can purchase separate insurance and some insurers have it as standard on your policy.
mine had no keys ,stuck in gear, no plates bought in 2005 and tracked next day, it was stored for 15 years before i got it, 2005 600rr i love this bike
good deal , , i got my first track bike free, after talking him down from 2k usd ... it cost 800 in back tax for street riding 1200 to fix her up,,,,,, most of the 1200 was things riders do ever buy regardless, oil chain,tires,sprokets,ect... i made a key and fixed her up nice ,,, ive since ride everyday 5 years now , even crossed states riding did 1000 mile one day, shes fast ive done 160plus everyday for 2 years straight.solid bike.
