Andrew is spot on with the Stream Deck. Mine's a godsend for not just muting but firing off commands on my PC. One more recommendation: If you're working in a home office add a sit/stand desk to your system.
Will clients spend more for "sustainable products", I'm going to bet that "does the product use sustainable materials?" is probably like priority 3-4 down. Above it are: product lifespan, product reliability, value of the product vs competitors etc. I agree with both guests here: budgets are getting slashed so much, that most clients would spend less for product A, even if product B is made up of more sustainable products/lower wattages.
As always, 4K is just a resolution. As indicated by the people here, the resolution benefits are determined by the human's eye acuity. If you're watching sports on a 5 inch phone screen, 1080p will be fine. But if you're watching it on 20-foot DV LED screen, 4K and 8K resolution starts to really benefit the audience, especially if they are right next to the screen. For interactive DV-LED screens, where the user is literally within 3 feet of the screen to touch it, the smallest pixel pitch you can get would be best as you will be able to see every pixel.
Jennifer Weaver doesn’t seem to have as much expertise as the other two. I would like to know why she’s looking for a job. I haven’t heard of any layoffs at Starin.
Yea Rachel!! I also only have Paramount+ for Star Trek. I am rewatching all of them with my daughter. We finished the original series and are in season 3 of TNG.

Y'all picking on poor Chris. Love regional shows. The problem is getting to them. It is much easier to justify a trip to a national show. But, to get to a regional show, unless you are a short drive away it is almost impossible to get there.
as a customer, Steven Brawner is 100% correct!! I wish there was a manual/basis for customers to ask the right questions. It's taken so many years in working on my home to find the right fit with an integrator that is a good match based upon the criteria mentioned here. I've mentored other people locally that helps (especially interior designers) but with so much company/industry turnover having consistent standards and succession planning by the integrator is so underrated as a component to the choices.
CAT5e!!!!! Please learn the difference. There is a HUGE difference between Cat5e which gets up to 1 Gbps - 1 Gigabit vs. Cat5 which only gets 100 Mbps.
So much great information in there. One of the things that really resonated with me was towards the end when you talked about the differences in how boys/girls are raised. I was always told by my grandmother that it was rude and nosy to ask questions so now I have such a hard time asking.
The discussion about lighting design is very on point. It’s a completely underserved market and the response to us offering certified lighting design in house has been met with almost 100% positivity. Preparing a proper lighting plan, not just specifying the brightest fixture option and taking glare into consideration aren’t even afterthoughts to most people in the lighting supply/install world.
The fact that Crestron made a poor decision to not have a US based masters. Next year was a terrible idea. Years before the pandemic, they would have it both in the US and in Europe. This year they only had it in the US. Next year they need to have it in both countries not just one. having it just in Europe really makes it difficult for us engineers in the US who do not have the money to go to Europe. A lot of the companies will not pay or assist us in getting to Europe for masters. I really hope crestron reverses this decision and has it in US as well. I am extremely disappointed in not being able to attend next year in Madrid.
