I hate this... I jus used a little of detergent with a litre of water and wiped them out... But they are so deep inside the stems of my monstera adansonii.. I had to pluck and throw 12 leaves. Ugggghhhhh I am so upset... My baby has gone bald 😭😭😢
Soo I was trying to insert my first moss pole in my new monstera since she is 2 ft tall already BUT I realized mid way that the moss pole was not gonna fit in her original pot which I wanted to keep her in. So I ended up having to repot her into the pretty pot that her plastic pot was sitting in. The pretty one has one decent size drainage hole but my question is do you think it’ll be enough to dry out? 😭😭 I’m terrified to cause it root rot.
I love your content! I am currently re-repotting my Monstera from a pot that was way to big and of course overwatering it was just killing My beautiful big luscious plant! And I also messed up but not staking it in the beginning too. 😩 I was able to get 6 pots (more if I had more pots) all thanks to your video. I will be giving some away to family and friends. 💕 And thank you for speaking on those events. I wish we all could just love each other more and keep the love and positivity rolling around. But I can say that I do feel like we are making progress, most importantly our younger generation are doing well which is sweet because once we are gone, they will have to fix whatever we couldn’t on their own.🙏🏽
I just bought a monstera and am replanting it! what is the best soil to use? I'm looking for a premade, bag one. just something basic that o can add to as needed over the next 12 months
Please tell me what type of soil you use for your Monstera. My Monstera grew beautifully in the summer, however, towards the end of the summer, the leafs just dropped down, and now in Jan. it looks like it's dying. I even moved it in another area in the house. How can I keep a Monstera plant healthy?? Yours looks beautiful.
my monstera is so leggy and small zero fenestrations and skinny stalks i’m going to get a moss pole and fresh dirt and pray but idk what i’m doing wrong
I'm a new plant mom, so sorry if these are stupid questions :) but I noticed that you placed your monstera in a second pot. Does the second pot act as a humidifier for it? Are there rocks at the bottom to help with drainage? If not, what do you use to prevent root rot? Thank you & your video is helped me decide that I am going to finally buy a monstera!
If you are referring to the white rectangle box, that was just the box she used as a base so she can keep the soil mess inside of it and not in her working space.
And if you are referring to the white round pot at the end that she finally used, that was just a way to hide the plastic nursery pot (grower pot) and make visible a more beautiful pot for aesthetics
I have an nursery insert (the black pot she has within the decorative white pot). I a new too, but I got mine doing some research saying that the plant love to breathe. I found some nursery pot with holes all over. For the first mixture I used miracle fro potting mix/orchid course blend mix/perlite. Those three are great for tropical plants.
While it looks great that way, I would hate having to remove the growing/nursery pot out each time for watering, waiting for it to drain, then placing back into the decorative pot. Guess I'm more of an easy & simple kind of plant mom. LOL
Hello and thank you for the video. My Monstera plant has grown leaves towards the floor as I didn’t have a moss pole and the branches are too stiff to bring up towards a pile now. Is there anyway to fix it?
Hi! Thanks so much for watching! You can try to train it by using twine to tie it gently. Every couple of days try and move it closer to the moss pole and keep repeating. It may take several months unfortunately. If that doesn’t work, you may have to just trim out the pieces that are too stiff and propagate them. Hope that helps!
So I put mine in miracle grow normal soil, I'm scared of over watering it i got it a day ago, but I've never had one.. do you think it needs a different soil?
Hi! That soil on its own tends to retain moisture so just be sure to always check the soil before you give it water. If you don’t like sticking your finger in the soil then use a moisture meter! I wait until mine is completely dry or reads 3 on the meter! Hope that helps!
