Your Don't do these exercises you showed caused me a day of pain after my physical Therapist made me do. Yours are more comfortable and easy to do and i actually felt better doing it.
Thank you for your videos. Very well thought out & stated. I'm learning a lot about my situation & hope to overcome most of the pain ASAP. Thanks again.
I just watched a video of a Dr who recommends slight stretches for Sciatica and explained why light stretching is good for the sciatic nerve and it made sense. Now I watch this video that says not to do stretches and it makes sense. Now I don't know whether I should do stretches or not. This is my problem when watching video's on health issues, 500 video's will tell you why you should do something and 500 video's will tell why you shouldn't do them, very confusing.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s so important to gather information, but I totally understand how overwhelming it can be. Remember, you’re not alone in this journey!
I’ve been in miserable pain for 2 weeks. I did do the Cobra & Wall Glide extensions right away and wished I hadn’t. I have been walking a little everyday but I’ll start icing instead of the heat. I have L4, L5 & S1 problems according to X-rays.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It takes courage to open up about pain, and I hope you find relief soon. Remember to listen to your body and take care of yourself!
I had the same problem and went to chiropractor. Found that my hips were uneven from a fall on my knee 20 years ago. Pain is down to a minimum now and I do stretches to strengthen muscles and get tension out. Good to find the source. I hope you do so you can get back to life.
Hello Just found your channel and love that you answer everyone’s questions. For me the body anatomy words are confusing. Would you be able to maybe show what part it is you are talking about? I have no idea what psoas is. Lol. I’ve never heard that word before. Maybe if you have like a skeleton with the different nerves to show where they are would be very helpful. Thank you. 💚💚💚
I've been struggling with sciatica and piriformis issues for a couple of years now. It gets extremely bad and I struggle to find any kind of relief. I can't even lay down in bed without getting pain. I'm grateful to find any information that might help.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It takes courage to talk about these struggles, and I truly hope the tips in the video offer you some comfort and relief.
Hello, I just finished watching this video as i am home from work due to severe sciatica pain. I've actually been living with this current episode for the past six weeks which seems to be the longest I've ever experienced sciatica. I've been functioning with it only because I've been taking massive amounts of ibuprofen... Which i hate doing, but it's been helping me to bear through. Recent liver and kidney tests showed they were good atm so I'll quit as soon as the pain dissipates. Here's my issues and my questions for you. I do have two lower bulging discs, diagnosed ten yrs ago (I am about 100 lbs overweight, I'm 61 yo). I also have osteoarthritis on my low spine, hip and knee, all on right side. Mild neuropathy. I do not have diabetes nor pre. All my tests actually came out normal - i am dealing with EXTREME inflammation, which i attribute 100% of my problems to. Exercise and low inflammatory diet was helping me lose weight and feel great actually until the sciatica showed up. The thing that kept me home from work however was NOT all this pain, but the CALF pain that just came on the scene! It's killer pain, every step is a firey hot poker right in my calf muscle, similar to a Charley horse from hell that CANNOT be massaged away. Dr suggested cortisone shot to help me get relief so i can continue exercising (and working) and getting on with lowering my inflammation. What's your thoughts on cortisone shots? He suggested knee and hip, I'm thinking lower back but that makes me nervous- close to the spine. My other question is, is rebounding ok to do with bulging discs?? It's supposed to be good for the lymphatic system but some things I've read say not to do if you have a herniated disc. I'm interested only in the gentle bouncing. I also do walk in place for exercise (before sciatica hit), just as an FYI. I think that's everything! I look forward to binging your video playlist today when I'm home. Thank you for your time!
I believe the cortisone injection will help to relieve the extreme calf pain. It will give you a break so you can go back to all the helpful things you have been doing! And, great job with all the things you have been doing! Rebounder can be great for lymphatics! I think using it gently (once the sciatica flare is over) is fine for older bulging discs. I don't like the rebounder for anything acute due to the heavy inflammation.
@@PT4Everybody thank you so much for your suggestions, and encouragements. I think i will wait on the rebounder for now, at least until i can lose a significant amount of weigh so as not to put so much pressure on my joints and back. Thinking an elliptical will be less strain on my discs, but will continue with the indoor walking for now. Thank you again, i feel hopeful. 😊
OMG I am glad I found you on u - tube, now I understand much better about Sciatica, I am having problem since couple years, it does not go away, from u-tube I learn some exercise and I try to do but it does not help. It is kind a no win situation. From now I am going to listen your video and learn more about it . Thank you very much. My name is Pratima
Wow! I'm glad I found this. I recently had a flare up that crippled me for two weeks. Several weeks before the flare up I was seeing a PT to address tightness in my hamstrings. We started some stretching routines which helped my hamstrings, but the end result was the worst flare up I've ever had of sciatica. I was using heat to ease pain and just tried ice minimally. While ice seemed to help I wasn't sure which one to use. Now I know. I am seeking an expert in my area because I don't want to endure this pain ever again.
I've heard that standing on a vibration plate machine is good for sciatica, as well as many other health issues. However, when I use my machine for even a short time, I do not feel better afterwards! I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thank you for your helpful video! 😊
Oooohhhh, I could see that. I like vibration plates for balance improvement and building bone. But, for a hot sciatica, I could see it making things worse. Maybe wait until your symptoms calm down to use the vibration plate.
Thank you for your tips. It really helps me to deal with it with less pain. I always thought that the hot cream or hot bubbles water help, but I was wrong. It made worse, but now I put ice it much better and help in long run.
Can it be a herniation & SI joint issue? 1 of my drs thinks its disc herniation & 2 others think its SI. I did have a back not si injection & experienced some relief, but my "hip area" is still killing me. It did help the nerve pain down my leg as well, but not completely. Im just so confused why some think it's a disc & others think it's si. I just need relief 😫Ive been in PT for 6mo & just started rossiter sessions. I love you videos, they arw so helpful & I have xrays & mri, so everyone on my care team have access.
I appreciate your expertise! Sciatica pain is so annoying,, disruptive and painful. Until I came upon your posts I only ever tried stretches commonly found on RU-vid. Now I don't do stretching thanks to you. I notice on all your posts the blue box follows the closed caption words. if the purpose is to help the hearing impaired I understand. Thanks again for informative posts.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that my content has made a difference for you. Your support means a lot, and I'm here to help you on your journey to relief!
I had hamstring injury near my knee 4 months ago and after 2-3 weeks of injury i started feeling pins and needles and shooting sharp pain behind my knee sometimes in my foot the pain was felt , i was immobilised initially for 3-4 weeks and was on bed with almost no movement in a brace due to misdiagnosis as ligament injury after that till now not able to walk have the same pain can’t straighten my leg and walk on it im so fed up plz help, even my calf got atrphied badly during that period now working on calf recently but what has caused my pain? It is behind knee sometimes im foot cant walk on straight leg or dorsiflex foot while leg straight help plz im so tired
I am so sorry! That is a rough story! It does sound like the pins and needles are being caused by the sciatic nerve based on your history. Wishing you the best in your recovery!
The last point reasonates. My physician wanted me to go to the orthopedic but my brother inlaw who is a doctor too told me not to. I am glad i did not .
I also have a horrible knot in my left butt cheek. I had caused myself a problem where my left hip was not in the right place it pushed my tailbone (that turns the opposite way normal tailbones turn) over the chiropractor fixed that part but now that knot in my butt cheek is killer.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s always helpful to hear that others are dealing with similar issues. I hope you find some relief for that knot soon!
Thank you for sharing your experience! It takes a lot of courage to open up about pain, and I truly hope you find some relief soon. Remember, you're not alone in this!
Thank you for sharing your journey! It’s inspiring to hear that you’re seeing improvement with PT and chiropractic care. Wishing you continued progress and relief from that pesky sciatica!
I totally agree to this, my husband has been suffering from this brutal pain of sciatica he did stretching, hot compress, exercises and lot that judt worsened the pain. Then he tried doing all the opposites like rest, ice cold compress, enough movement, takes vit b complex he’s gradually feeling better now.
Thank you for sharing your husband's journey! It's so important to explore different methods for relief, and I'm happy to hear he's on the mend. Wishing him all the best!
Thank you! Best I have read. Started 5 days ago and has gotten worse each day because I tried to stretch a little instead of letting it relax. Thank you so much
Thank you for your kind words! I'm really happy to hear that the advice has resonated with you. Take it slow, and you'll be on the road to recovery in no time!
I’m on day 3 with sciatica and it’s the worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life! It hurts worse than labor contractions. I was watching videos by professionals just like everyone else looking for relief. I was heating and stretching with no relief. I will stop that now and try your suggestions. I need some relief from this pain, it is diminishing my quality of life.
I dealt with terrible sciatica pain a few years ago, lasted for over 6 months.Nothing helped including meds, and pt. I was just ready to get the shot to help, luckily the pain just went away prior to my appt, almost as quickly as it came on. Can you address your thoughts on the shot, which may help for 6months,I think.? Also, I find sitting on hard surfaces, such as a dining room chair, as opposed to the couch , for me that definitely has helped. If you can address that also. Thanks for your helpful videos.
Forever indebted to you mam felt immediate relief will for sure check out all you videos for long term improvement that’s a lot ma’am for sharing your knowledge
Why on Earth do you want to use that growling fried voice. I've read that women are trying to have a more masculine voice so as to have more Authority of what they're saying. You gave me a headache before halfway through.
Hi, thank you for these exercises and the information. However, I am dealing with my mother in law who is in her 90's and has a CHRONIC sciatica pain. In addition, her balance is not good. I understand from another physiotherapist that treating a chronic sciatica pain in seniors is a bit different from those who have a temporary sciatica pain. If you have not addressed this in your videos, would you make a video for elderly with balance issues who have a chronic sciatica pain? thank you.
BTW, does it cost to follow you... be a subscriber? Because I just hit subscribe button! I would like to refer back to you whenever or hopefully, if ever, this menace to my body comes back again?!?; 😧
