Years ago, there was a magazine article about an MGB with a V8 engine swap. The article had a catchy line, stab and stear heh Stabe". Is this possibly the same Stabe.
Still an issue as of PrusaSlicer 2.7.4. As long as you're using a modifier shape this way it'll create that mid-model fuzzy wall as I show in the video. On most models you probably can just use the Fuzzy Skin setting under Layers and Perimeters. As long as your model has distinct insides and outsides it'll be fine. I was trying to limit the fuzz to a certain part of the external surface of my model which is when I noticed this issue. Cosmetically this isn't a huge deal but in my situation it created a structural weak point.
My dad raced sport cars in the '60s. I remember my first ride in a race car in 1966, when I was 6 years old. It was during live practice and it scared the crap out of me! I have never been in a car more insane and loud. Although I was screaming and crying for the duration, I remain an enthusiast to this day. The Cobra is my dream car.
Man, the 90's and 2000's were better times in my opinion. I was very small during this time, but I still remember people being more polite, self-aware, and kind. Even during the video here, there was a scene where the camera was facing the Cobra outside the RV and another gentleman was looking at it too. He looked at the camera and stepped away to get out of the shot out of courtesy. Something so small is so surprising to me because that'd never happen today. I love Cobras and I loved this video!
Thanks for uploading this video. I was Dave Radtke friend and business partner after he left house of cobras and came to Alaska his history in itself if very amazing on top of his contribution to this community when it was at its most.
Hah, your channel name got me. My brother customized back in 1970 a Honda CL-90 for serious off-road riding. He named it the " Frito Bandido". After a while I found two Frito Bandido pencil eraser add- Ons and placed them on his tire tube valve stems. I have not thought about that good motorcycle in many, many years. Thank you.
So Dave Smith has an accident, the car flips over, and is back on the track in a couple hours and you're whining about a floppy hood? Go buy something else, the Factory Five crowd doesn't want you anyway.
Watched this last night and to see the South African influence really made me smile. I would love to see someone do an updated feature and interview the guys from Backdraft who also build their cars in South Africa.
I built one of the last Classic Roadster 427 kits. Started in 1997 got it on the road a few years later... The automobile was not an "easy build" but with diligence, knowledge, and attention to detail I built an excellent Cobra replica. I used the power plant from my 1/4mile drag car. I sold it (unfortunately) a few years back and the thing surprised the buyer like crazy! I miss it. Thanks for sharing. J.
I'm not sure when this video was recorded, but for the last 20yrs an original cobra has ran right around 1 million, up to as much as $3,000,000 - $5,000,000 depending on its history.
I own the same color as he does. Bought her in Vegas 5 yrs ago. Shes an 01 66 cobra in blue/white. I changed alot after I bought her used. Made her look more like a 66 track car. I attend the more bigger car shows(OC Cobra, Boys Nation, Route66) in SoCal that my car club sponsors. I love the culture, and love getting stared at alot more than all these supercars you see here. Theres just the magnetism that a cobra draws. So mean, wide, low, and that loud 427. 💕💕 Love it. My daughters love it.
Factory 5 cars are Great 👍 And the customer service is outstanding. Put together quite a few. From 300hp to 650hp. You just can't go wrong with factory 5 kit.
Well done Jim. Your pricing on the originals is a bit dated (now starts at around $1.4M and they go up faster than joe lieden's disapproval rating). I got a "find" on the #2 of 8 Cutting Edge Cobra's. A year to take to the frame and back. A great machine and crowd draw. The only Cobra's with Indy Suspension of all four corners. She has a built engine from the Aluminum Ford Racing Windsor 427 short block, AFR 220 Renegades with all the options, and a Ron Iskenderian designed roller cam and lifters. Lots of engine goodies. 648 flywheel HP @ 6,500, with 574 ft. lbs torque. The new weight with the aluminum engine came in at 1,956 lbs. People ask "how fast is she", and my typical answer is always ... "she travels at the speed of money".
That was my temporary registration. In CA these are registered under SB-100 which allows them to be registered *mostly* as the year they represent with regard to smog and safety laws. The process is tricky and takes a few months to complete.
Good morning,,, just special,,, just amazing,,, just SUPER, SUPER, COBRA,,, congrautlations for all the people who made posible this video,,, and of with the main sstar,,, with respect,,, your friend Oscar de Pachuca HGo Estados Unidos Mexicanos,,,
Not sure what you mean by hot rider but with these cars it's best not to be too precious. You cannot drive them the way they're meant to be driven and keep the paint perfect. Clean slacks on a clean Cobra isn't a concern. One of the coolest Cobras I've seen is owned by Lynn Park (Mr. Cobra) and it wears it's age and many battlescars with pride.
I really enjoyed this video clip very very well done. A lot of insight and wisdom in owning a Cobra. I’ve had mine for about two years now. Absolutely love it,Brian from Melbourne Australia. 62 years old LOL...
