Absolutely awesome! I am such an enthusiastic steamer and so old fashioned, could watch this for hours. More garret power to all involved in this history. Please do not go too “green” to loose this!
Just come across the channel. I have fond memories of DB in those days. Einheitsloks everywhere and of course class 103, plus no graffiti or weeds. Thanks for sharing.
Echt Wahnsinnsaufnahmen recht herzlichen Dank Erinnerungen and die Kindheit bzw Jugend
This is superb work you have here. I can't believe there are so few comments and likes. I will tell all my friends. These QJs had to be some of the most magnificent steam locos ever. Well maintained and s, capable and handsome. Tanks so much fot sharing these gorgeous scenes and soounds. :-)
Is that thunder I can hear at about 4 minutes in, just as a 47/7 is leaving platform 6? The rain looked torrential and it sure looked dark enough for thunder.
Wen used to go to Paignton Wen come in on electric from Liverpool lime street and back out with a deisls all the way to kingswheier wat a trip and a long day
Nice We Have One Preserved here ad Are National Railway Museum in Utrecht Class 27000 AKA NS 1501 Diana its on my video on my chanal for who is interest in how the loco looks like in 2024
1:40 no messing about getting those doors open 😂😂 wonderful. And back then hardly anyone got clouted by open doors. Imagine now there'd be law suits flying about like confetti 🙈 3:30 an HST. Then a 31 after it. Both wonderful but it's like an Allegro following a Testerossa. 😂 That 50 at 12:10 is a thing of beauty Being a Surrey boy the sound of the 85/86/87 is almost alien 👽 15:17 "I'll just drop you off mate"
SO many spotters!!! 9:05 ...is it like that now? Things change, life moves on and it's unstoppable but, it WAS so much more varied and interesting then!! Wasn't it?
Hi Thank you for recording precious moments about Chengde Steelwork Branch. I am a rail-fan in Chengde, China. I am very appreciated your work. Could I use this video as a part of my film of "Beijing-Chengde" Railway? I would enclose the original RU-vid link while writing your name in my film. Best wishes, SkyUniverse
Fantastic photography, the landscape settings for those wonderful steam engines is the best I have ever seen. Enjoyed listening to your comments Roy, so very informative. I, Ian, have had a love of steam from my young days growing up in Northern Rhodesia, now Zambia. Followed the steam trail to Rhodesia and back to South Africa, 1950s to 1980s
Class 151 prototype DMU; 1 of only 2 built. I remember them on the Matlock line in trial service. Both scrapped in real life; currently working on some Railway Series style stories about them now working on Sodor. Although made in Birmingham I don't imagine "Derby" & "Matlock" having Brummie accents!
Had the pleasure of being onboard the 'Pennine Fellsman' from Liverpool Lime Street (bailing at Crewe on the return run); a great afternoon out despite the delay, and an opportunity to encounter 40145 (D345) for the first time. Remember 87004 running round at Carlisle too, if memory serves! Thanks for posting.
@The Roy Bowden Collection would you mind if I used some of your push-pull shots for a video I'm making about the Scottish push-pull tour last February? It's for a section detailing their history. Full credit would be given on screen. Thanks.
Hi Craig, this is Anthony, Roy's son. I'm sorry for the delay replying, he is quite ill in hospital but he says he's happy for you to use any footage you need with credit :)
Absolutely incredible. To think I stood in the same spots you did but 30 years later. I was only completing the 1st grade in school. Thank you for sharing. Just to add. I found you seen df4b 1886, I actually have the brass number plate off that loco.
Feel old, feel nostalgic, feel blessed, feel knowledgeable, feel sad, feel, free, feel like I have lived, gona do more, we were the last free teenagers before cameras and ANPR, FREEE
