It's actually not a coincedence, the originally members were choral scholars at King's College, Cambridge and are named after the college, so the group is literally named after King's College!
This was recorded in 2005, and from what I understand, sadly, they fired Tarja Turunen right after this performance of the Phantom Of The Opera by posting a letter publicly on their webpage! Marko Hietala later left Nightwish, and reunited with Tarja 19 years later to make the new Awesome music video (LEFT ON MARS)! 🎸🎤
😊😊👍👍NEWS! - NEWS - NEWS! Please next from Angelina Jordan - "Bad Valentine" The newest song from Angelina is the rawest and most amazing song I've ever heard. We know that Angelina is a super mega vocalist, but this was so good and powerful that it can't actually be described in words. WARNING! That song will blow your socks off!
Hard to be sure but i think the two vocal tracks are slightly different. Seems to me the high runs are little shorter and just wee bit lower in pitch in the official video. along with the different instrumentation makes it more streaming, radio and tour friendly. The piano diaries version feels more vocally intense to be reserved for special events. Could be totally wrong and both are spectacular
Candice--- you need to check out Angelina Jordan singing if i were a boy in the church it is called Angelina Jordan - If I Were A Boy (Piano Diaries by Toby gad) Toby gad is the man playing the piano he co wrote this song with BC Jean i am sorry Beyonce but Angelina is next level there is no auto tune or any other manipulation to her voice this is god given . she has been an amazing singer since the age of 6 where she did an insane cover of i who have no one . i called in sick just to listen to her for a whole day ...start from Norway's got talent and listen to the judges comments ( ensure the subtitles are English) her rendition of queens the show must go on and its a mans world and i would rather go blind just sitting on a couch effortlessly adapting to any song she wants to no one of these days can compete with Angelina sorry.. she pulls you in and that's you now craving for more to me i see her as a female Michael Jackson talent wise that is ....

I think you’re a good psychologist! I agree with your take on both versions and until you shared your views it hadn’t occurred to me. Angelina is fantastic and both productions from Toby Gad brilliant! I think Angelina is trying to reach younger fans in the “street “version! Thanks for the reaction 🎉
Hello Candice! It's been a hot minute, hasn't it. And tbh I didn't like this reaction. I LOVED it 😂🤣 Did I scare you for a millisecond there? Great to have you reacting to Angelina again and bringing your takes on these videos. Very good observations and thoughts IMO. Personally I do prefer the video from the church, as it emphasizes even more on her beautiful voice and her absolute class, but I also love the "let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London, I will show you something to make you change your mind" video, as it definitely speaks more to an audience that hasn't yet been introduced to her. It's much more in the vain of a more traditional and contemporary song/video, and the arrangement has more OMPH (or how you say it) to it. That being said, Angelina is one of those rare artists that don't need musical OMPH arrangements, as their voices deliver enough OMPH on their own. She's a very rare breed, and she's well and truly ahead of the game and the flock I think. Unbiased thinking I might add😆 Take care and have a wonderful weekend when it arrives. Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
Hi @poolhallshark, Thank you for commenting. It is good to hear from you. Yes, you did get me there 😂. I appreciate everything you have said. I am having a wonderful weekend, thank you. I hope you are too. Xx
I do prefer the second one you listened to, because of the chosen music instruments, but they are both very, very good. In the first video you reacted on Toby Gad, one of the co-writers of this song (back in 2008) plays the piano. The second video you reacted on he has filmed and produced. And that tells everything about his thoughts about Angelina as a performer/singer, I guess. Maybe the first video will attract more people because it sounds more, how to say it,.... "poppy". But it fits Angelina: it is not a far cry from what she normally does, although it is less jazzy as usual. It sounds a bit more as popular music does but (again) I like the second version more. At first I thought they have used the same vocal soundtrack and used different instrumental sounds for each video (which would be absolutely o.k. to me). But maybe the "poppy" version is a bit faster. I am not sure.
That is a good comment. You have got me thinking. l will have to listen again. I know sometimes the musical arrangement can make a track seem to be uptempo than another when infact they have the same beats per minute. I hope I'm making sense.
@@candicefontaine276 Yes, that's what I am thinking. Because you can hear the echo in the church when she walks in but not when she sings. But maybe they can filter the echo out, I honestly have no clue about those technical things and how that works. And in the first video you can see very good that playback singing is something Angelina is not very used to which is funny to me.
Thank you for your reaction. Beyonce is not the original singer. She also did a cover of this song. I prefer the video where she perform in the church.
Wonderful reaction Candice...nice to see you again with Angelina. Loved the comments and your take on both of these great videos from Angelina and Toby Gad. Cheers. 🥰🥰
Thank you for commenting. I can totally see where you are coming from. I can equally pick bits out of both videos that l like. It's amazing how the ambiance can have such an effort on the same song.
---- There is a map image of East London from a fan on FB that shows the location of the 10 main shots of the artist video of Angelina walking and singing ---- I will do my best to provide what is indicated on the map image: -- Scene 1: starts out on a side path off Brick Lane at Code Street intersection with the path at the Allen Gardens -- Scene 2: jumps to a scene on Brick Lane past Buxton Street that looks to be near Art of the Brick London and 93 Feet East -- Scene 3: jumps back to the path of Allen Gardens past Brick Lane Station Park -- Scene 4: jumps back to Brick Lane just before the intersection with Buxton Street near the Brick Lane Post Office -- Scene 5: jumps to Buxton Street walking past Code Street with Allen Gardens on left as one walks away from Brick Lane -- Scene 6: jumps back to Allen Gardens path with the Spitalfields Community Play Area Bushland on the right and with Angelina crossing over a path that would go to Spitalfields City Farm on the left as one is heading toward Buxton Street -- Scene 7: jumps way down to Commercial Street where the Van Gogh London Exhibit and The Abnormal Beauty shop is located in the crossing Lamb Street vicinity -- Scene 8: jumps to Code Street heading towards Buxton Street -- Scene 9: jumps to end of Allen Gardens path with a right turn onto Buxton Street -- Scene 10: jumps to the other side of the Brick Lane Bridge (Shoreditch) and goes on Grimsby Street and Brick Lane ---- Hopefully I got it correct although you could check on a zoomable digital map of the area and verify the above
Beautiful reaction, thanks Candice. You freeze ... endlessly listening to her wonderful voice and admiring her fantastic musical sensitivity, even the simplest song that passes through her hands becomes fantastic. She is simply unique and with a wonderful melodic perception. This interpretation (isn't a cover for me) is curative for the your soul and the soft background accompaniment of the instruments give her a beautiful silky backdrop, until that wonderful whispered final phrase "... but you are just a boy".💛🧡❤
I must admit. I do love the way the song ends with just her voice. That is definitely a moment of impact. Thank you for commenting. I hope you have a wonderful day.
"If I Were a Boy" is a song written by BC Jean and Toby Gad and originally performed by Jean in 2008.[1] The song gained international attention the same year in a version by the American singer Beyoncé, from her third studio album I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008). Jean and Gad also handled its production alongside Beyoncé. Inspired by the difficult break-up of a romantic relationship, the song was initially recorded by Jean, whose record company rejected it. Beyoncé then recorded her own version. Jean was upset when she learned that Beyoncé was releasing it as a single,
Loved your reaction and comments. And I just realised that although the street version is for Angelina as an artist and the church version for the Toby Gad piano diaries (featuring Angelina Jordan), Toby almost totally stands (or sits) back to revel in the implied glory of Angelina. So basically it becomes two versions and two videos for Angelina. I think that tells us something about how he sees their relationship…and Angelina as an artist.
Imagine being the one who at 18 is stepping on to the world stage and in the company of legends the entire way here. Her entire life has been song, craft of her instrument and activity in community. I wonder what its like to know how much you affect so many lives. The first dali lama of song
