I think this is doable. Saw the redbull team go through London tower Bridge and did a manoeuvre which stopped them in mid air. Parachute was only needed to land on the platform. If they landed in the water they would be fine from that height.
Wow, a 10-year-old video? I don't know why this came across my watchlist. But this can't be fake. I've done this. I believe it was on base jump. It was put out by Nintendo.
If that is possible, one would have to know what one is doing. I wonder, if one is a few metres above the water, a flare manouevre creating drag, would slow one down considerably before hitting the water? But it could be risky, as is the whole sport.
They did this for the 10m views of idiots like me that watched it. Wish I could reach back in and take my view back from this one. The wire clearly seen running behind the head and shoulders is the best!!!
Might it be possible to glide a metre or two above the water surface and then pitch upward almost vertically, and after stalling (stopping in flight) just drop down into the water (unharmed)?
I don’t know anything about wing suit flying, or base, jumping, but I still thought the video might be interesting, so I watched it. When they didn’t show the landing, I knew it was fake. I just don’t understand why people make fake videos to waste other peoples time?
