Coming back to this channel in the middle of an EA meltdown in May 2024 to remember how this game could be played. Wow I cannot believe how much more fluid and fun this looks compared to what we have now. And at the time this game felt terrible…
Nowadays fifa isn’t really skill based at all imo.. I feel like there’s so much RNG involved it’s not even funny. You don’t choose your animations, you don’t choose how your shot is gonna be, half the time passing feels like it wasn’t what I intended, overall I enjoy playing fifa for fun but it’s just not a game you can take seriously / competitively because you’ll lose your mind with all the random RNG (random example- hitting the post constantly)
ye so this video shows something i complained about without realising lol. for me, trapping with second pressing player has always been a standard way to play fifa or pro evo/iss but there was a time when i jus told my bro i cant play it anymore, it was already not like real football and now it is even less so. turns out from this video that i was about this very phenomenon unknowingly!
I don't like this logic because you start from an assumption that for me is uncorrect: you say that the game has to be enough fast to result fun. I don't agree at all. But following your logic for the passing system I find another big problem: you as player are always forced to pass the ball to a team mate directly to his feet, while i wolud like to put ball also in a empty space, trying to forecast, for example, a running of a team mate. I think that the easiest solution is to give the freedoom to the player to put the ball where he wants with the right aim and the right tap (or more) on the button pass to move the ball directly to a team mate or in a empty space or for absurd to an opponent. Thanks for your attention.
You shouldn't even have to tell your teammate to switch in that situation, it's defense 101. I played outside back at a high school that didn't have enough players to cut anyone, and even our strikers would've known not to just torpedo the formation like the FIFA AI will
I don't think I care about realistic/not realistic. I just want a fun game. I want the game to be fun to play. Rewarding. Rewarding good decisions and punishing bad ones. A responsive game where the players are quick and smooth to control, and don't take too many touches. Better attacking AI. No more scripting and momentum. Fun and fair game of skill. Rocket League does it - shouldn't be that hard.
Late to the party but this is my view on this: EA put in manual controls that can (and should be) mastered for advanced players. They also put in the assists for passing shooting etc, so kids and casuals do not get frustrated by a steep learning curve. I played FIFA 12 and 13 and had a ton of fun with my friends using manual controls. I think online matchmaking plus ranked matches favoured players with assisted controls because they made fewer mistakes. What EA did not expect probably is that the competitive scene did not evolve using manual controls and they did not want to implement it otherwise people would likely stop playing. Long story short. Most people on FIFA are noobs. Including this guy. But thats okay
I've played with manual controller settings since FIFA 13. I tell you, when you learn to play with manual, you'll not play with assisted anymore. Manual gives much more opportunities what to do with the ball. Longer passes and harder shoots. Or short thru pass to nearest runner. Makes possible also score with short-pass button, when aim towards to goal. Very difficult for the goalie to save.
stop wasting your lives playing video games get out and make real memories and get a girlfriend you will not look back in years to come with fond video game memories
