I was really angry and worried about losing CapFriendly at first, but then Elliot Friedmen talked about other alternatives out there on his recent podcast like Puck Pedia which also tracks salary caps and draft info and I'm fine now. It is the internet, one app or site always ends up getting replaced by another eventually. Good Bye CapFriendly, Hello Puck Pedia.
Landon does sound very much like his dad, except he speaks slower and has a deeper voice. Good to have some different perspectives (not that I don't enjoy the regular guests and analysts though).
I have been seeing this cope from Canucks fans for almost a month now. Canucks and Oilers had a physical series, but Canucks players are just the more injury prone group. Boeser has been extremely injury prone throughout his career and it was only a matter of time before he was out. Oilers are just the more physically resilient team. Canucks were not going to get far winning every game by 1 goal anyway.
This is why I hate corporate media. Obviously the parent company of these news corporations owns other businesses, so they're not going to report on themselves. It's a pretty smart business movie to buy the very thing reporting on your crooked behaviour, but should be illegal. In this case, these hockey teams don't want the public, the their customers, the people giving them money, to know what's going on, so they just buy the service providing them information. It's literally censorship, but it's legal censorship. Between this and the gambling situation in hockey, it's clear the NHL doesn't care anymore that you know that they're corrupt. They're not being subtle about anything anymore.
Not a comment about this video but about the stupid things Ryan said about taxes. Does he not realize that the high taxes are destroying this countries middle class ? It’s not a boo hoo as he so childishly stated ! That doofus should never ever speak about taxes on the show again. If a player has a choice they will choose not come here it’s a very dangerous situation for the arts and for sport 8n this nation and he of all people had better not blow off the problem because it’s going to mean HIS job in the long run.
And the search starts for a replacement. I guess Hanaryan Singh is the logical choice. He certainly can't hold a candle to Baller's talent and passion for calling the game, but Singer is loved by everyone in Calgary and it would make an easy transition as he has worked with Hrudy on some national games, they seem well suited together. Cam Moon is a strong contender as he is not be used to his potential up in Edmonton as he has to take a back seat to the mouth that roars, Jack Michaels. I guess we could throw Brad Curl's name into the hat as well, I dont know much about Curly, but he seems highly qualified and very competent. Seems many Canadian play by play announcers head down to the greener pastures in the good ole US of A. ESPN's hockey coverage is a who's who of Canadians.
Oilers fan here, Rick is one of the top play by play guys in the business, a Huge loss for the Sportsnet Calgary broadcasts. He really can't be replaced with someone as good. I wish Rick and his family the very best in Chicago, the Hawks picked up a gem of a play by play man and a good and decent human being.
So sad the canucks gave the farm away to sign lindholm for 1 playoffs. Trade never made sense to me to start with. Same old story...empty cupboards will continue for this organization.
If we as an a NHL team are buying into a 93 million dollar player to lead us, then we need to support him in every way. We have signed Pettersen to an 8 year 93 million dollar contract. Ok so if this is the way we are going then we need to support him in every way. We have decided that this is the player to Center our team around so I say let’s support him in every way. Let’s get players that will surround him into the player that is worth the huge amount of money he has demanded. He’s determined that his worth is at the elite level, so let’s support his huge demand. Let’s get the support to make him the player worth 93 million dollars. When a company pays an exorbitant amount of money, then they want a return. I look forward to the return on this exorbitant amount of Canuck funds.
