I don't think you have done the math on trying to charge your batteries by solar panels. It's not in your favor. In order to get 48 Volts to match you battery voltage, you will likely have to chain a few panels in series. Beyond that, the bigger issue is that the amount of energy that is stored in the battery is going to be greater than you will be able to get over the course of a day from a panel that is small enough for you to carry. Solar panels rarely produce their rated power. It only happens when they are orientated perpendicular to the sun, and in full sunlight. Often you will get 50% of their rated power, or less. So even if you had a large panel, like 100 Watts, it would take more than an entire day to charge one battery. You used more than one battery on this trip. I have an Aventure.2 as well and have run into similar issues. For big days, I can pedal further on a gravel, or mountain bike than the range of the battery. This is not the bike for multi-day, off-grid adventures. It would work better if you had the ability to plug the charger into a wall outlet every night.
I bought mine about a month ago in the UK for £579. It came with the RC control with the screen. I coming from the Mini 2 so don’t miss any of the pro feature. I’d have to pay another £400 to get a Mini 4 Pro. The camera is a marked improvement from the Mini 2, the Mini 3 is more responsive in flight and as you say quieter. Couple of negatives are the bag that came with the fly more combo is too small to comfortably fit the drone and accessories and there’s no propeller holder, and before I forget, they no longer supply charging plugs with drones.
My first time on your channel and loved the video! How well does the bike handle in the snow and ice? I want to use it as a daily driver, mainly on bike paths, to get to and from work.
It handles super well in snow, the big tires get great traction and this has the power to just rip right through. With ice you have to be a lot more careful because you'll slip in an instant, but that's with any bike. This will make a great daily driver!
Awesome detailed and a review I know you're actually out there putting it through its real paces like I am going to when I buy one on these labor day sales right now! What solar mount is that one you're using on the handlebars?!
Awesome! Have fun with your bike! As for the solar mount on the handlebars, its this one: www.amazon.com/Exercise-Handlebar-Stationary-Treadmill-Microphone/dp/B091GDKSK7/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=OZNM2UF10XMK&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.kQjSW6zu0WsUgrwMvUfjLccQJA-u7J-YaXmWUU8kWU8jmDuqd625wJVpMqRNWirw_-6kZWfXBA8uom_pc4clzgG2nrtma_hMCkrepg9FNg42FbU9ExlPXl0rEZLvosP_q2UWdkvdPhuOJOWKoEuEgS-mOqJDwrIveFmd82Asb0B4pwyiw5MN7FeUjUPnZJFgJ-k8HEgN87t30RQ1g6h61EgXxKPfbWMs13Gx_zeAPmU.KX7J5QduqD31aOSLzP5hVHSR6KzRznUy2-Ie2Om88DA&dib_tag=se&keywords=tablet+mount+for+bike&qid=1724811726&sprefix=tablet+mount+for+bik%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
@@spootnik00 issue with rear suspension is it’s two to three times more expensive (if you want something halfway decent) and much harder to fit on rear racks that can withstand a lot of weight. Thanks for watching!
I purchased one of the "wraps" to hold the propellers in place when in storage. This bows the blades slightly and was wondering if I should store it without the "wrap" or go ahead and use it.
@@whatdoidonext2234 I’ve never used a wrap but have a really nice padded container that happens to fit perfectly with the drone so the propellers don’t get folded on storage. I bet you’ll be fine without the wrap but I don’t really know.
I have one of the DJI wraps made for the Mini 3. When installed correctly, the blades are not under any stress at all. There are two standoffs that hold the wrap against the drone body and leave the props untouched.
@@brandon34344 I won’t be upgrading anytime soon because the one good thing about the cadence sensor is I can go the max speed (28 mph) while pedaling super slow. With the new torque sensor I would have to put more effort in for the bike to reach that speed. If I were doing more technical off road stuff I would upgrade but I don’t as much anymore.
@@brandon34344 closing in on 3000 miles… motor still kicking but definitely signs of wear and tear. Its making Wierd noses under strain which I think are the gears inside getting worn out. Honestly surprised it’s lasted this long considering I literally never pedal.
I scored a Mini 3 Bundle with the RC-N1 controller, single battery, and several ND Lens filters. $299.00 Killer deal to step in for my old dinosaur Phantom 3 Std that has to be registered to fly and only a 720p gimbal. Personally, I prefer the less expensive controller. Its really not a bother to connect. You cannot load ANYTHING on to the .ore expensive "RC" controller with the built in screen. I use the Litchi app a lot as that allows mission planning and autonomous flight operations for filming. I happened to have an old Samsung S21+ that I use exclusively for my Mini 3. I learned to fly on the Phantom as well as fixed wing RC aircraft. Learn to fly without running into shit and the sensors are unwarranted. 😅 The Mini 3 is an excellent set-up and with non-proprietary system software like Litchi, it will do all the things a M3Pro will do and then some. Great review!
Agreed. I'm not sure why they don't make it, almost guaranteed to be popular. Everyone wants a bike in between small dualsports and large adventure bikes.
Somebody advice please. Should i buy dji mini 3 for 315$ or mini 3 with fly more without rc for 440$ ? I'm new user and not sure if i'll need the extra batteries which comes with fly more combo. In future i can buy another battery for 60$ if needed. Is it wise to buy just the drone and remote ?
Hybrids are generally best for mpg range. But there's still some small suv's that are better. Electric is very expensive unless you're paying from home chargers on specialist contracts that charge for less.. public chargers in the uk for example are anywhere between 50 - 75 pence per unit of charge. Essentially 30-50£ per full battery.
@@jacobfuller6266 with my nissan juke I get about 400 miles on a tank of fuel using the hybride, it takes driving economically to get the 60 mpg but it can be done. I avg 48 in town and 60 on distance. Compare that to my jeep which I had before, I got 24 mpg on avg and the mitsubishi I got 12 mpg.. so you really notice the difference.
Also you wouldn’t need a license when you go overweight. You simply have to register with the FAA , like $20 every 5 years. You only need a license when you are making money from the footage. But aren’t we all students in life? 😊
Great review! I just ordered the DJI mini 3 and should be here tomorrow! I can't wait to use it for my channel! I look forward to watching more of your videos! Thank you for sharing my new friend!
From an XR400 & XR200 p.o.v., this was and still is the perfect "in-between" gap that Honda filled for us. You shouldn't expect everyone to love the CRF300 Rally as much, since it's a preferred choice for the few of us considering it's capabilities and it's very appealing overall look compared to it's 250 predecessor. Just don't go naming it Noraly though since it would be a whole lot awkward to say; "i really love riding her" now wouldn't it.😂 Btw, Nice review!🍻🤙✌
I burned my Aventon Aventure 2 motor up at only 67 miles. It couldn’t make it up the steep paved mountain road at the 3,000 foot elevation. I only made it 8 miles on this trip before the hub motor burned up. I rode in Eco and 1st gear. My friend’s $600 Walmart Hyper 250 watt mid-drive mountain e-bike made it up the hill and my Aventure didn’t. Very embarrassing. I took it back to the bike store and the bike mechanic said that I needed a new hub motor. Good thing the Aventon has a two year warranty.
Lol that would embarrass me too a bit, I would hate a a friend with a Walmart bike feeling like he made the better purchase 🤣 Walmart bikes are a bad place to put money, diminishing returns ironically, hope your aventon is good
Just bought a mini 3 and on my first flight it almost got taken down by Harris Hawks. They immediately circled my drone and tried to strike it down. Spent the whole flight dodging them
I've seen a lot of videos of birds trying to take down drones but in all my time of flying it's never once happened to me. Probably will someday though.
I was initially planning on getting one but didn't. The cost is pretty high and it would take half a day to a full day to charge a battery so it makes little sense unless I were to do some hardcore off the grid stuff.
One thing rarely mentioned about this bike is that if you just adjust the preload on the rear shock you can correct the sag and add travel before bottoming out at the cost of a higher seat height.
@@MustBePerfectForever I did that also and it made the bike sit too high for me to be comfortable offroad so I back it up half way. I suppose you must have a longer inseam than me, I'm 30 inch.
